le ceiller

Really awesome! Try odd times of the day for a resi. If you get in,sav room for the chocolate moose!!(not a typo)

because its good, and fairly small, and feels like signature dining (2TS credits) but its really only 1TS credit.

Because its one of the better places to eat in world showcase. Unfortunately its reputation is larger than what it actually deserves - its only in comparison to some pretty poor choices that it shines.

Also I think it has the most expensive meal you can get on the DP for only one TS credit and people what to think they are getting their monies worth.

Because it's from Canada... and Canada RULES!

Hahaha...

Oh Canada, our home and native land
True patriot love in all thy sons command...
:rolleyes1

Really though, it's not a very big restaurant, and the food is great.

I am from Canada... and I have never EVER seen Cheddar Cheese Soup here... So not sure how authentic the menu is.

But the Filet with Mushroom Risotto is awesome... and so is the Maple Creme Brulee...

le ceiller, why is it always booked up?
Not that long ago this was one of the places where you could walk in and get a seat during prime dining times...back in the days of priority seating. Not really that long ago. Now, with the ever popularity of Disney Dining Plans, this establishment is the only one offering steak for one TS dining ticket. This is what makes it popular. The food is ok and the atmosphere needs improvement along with the space between tables.

Not true. We had steak at Whispering Canyon! (on the dining plan - 1 TS credit)

Other 1TS restaurants with steak:

1. Captain's Grille (NY Strip)
2. Kona Cafe (NY Strip; ribeye)
3. The Wave (Grilled beef tenderloin; flat iron steak)
4. Kouzzina (Flank steak)
5. Shutters (Skirt steak)
6. Grand Floridian Cafe (Ribeye; NY Strip)
7. Olivia's Cafe (NY Strip...they also have roast prime rib)
8. Boatwright's (Grilled tenderloin medallions...they also have prime rib)
9. Turf Club (NY Strip...they also have prime rib)
10. Raglan Road (Sirloin steak)
11. Wolfgang Puck Cafe (Flat iron steak)
12. Chefs de France (Grilled beef tenderloin)
13. Rose & Crown (Surf & Turf has steak)
14. San Angel Inn (grilled beef tenderloin)
15. Tutto Italia's "Tagliata di Manzo" (means "cut of beef" in Italian)

Now 2 things are true...they don't have the same selection of different steaks as Le Cellier, and...I based the above list on dinner menus only, not lunch. Le Cellier has a good selection of steaks at lunch as well as dinner. But there are restaurants that serve steaks that only require 1TS credit. You can have steak every night on the DDP (or OOP) if you want to, without setting foot in a signature restaurant.

Location inside a theme park, 1 credit on dining plan, selection of different steaks served, very small restaurant (seating capacity is only about 150). I don't think it's that great but I tend to underestimate the power of steak. Before the dining plan, it was possible, despite the restaurant's size, to walk up and get seated almost anytime.

Part of it is that while many 1 TS credit restaurants serve steak of some sort, Le Cellier is the only one that carries the title "Steakhouse."

There's also a tremendous following for the Canadian cheddar cheese soup, another thing I don't really understand. It's good but it's not the be all end all. They serve it at a Food & Wine Festival kiosk, where there are plenty of different choices available around Epcot, and every year it far outsells the other festival offerings (even though it's available year-round in the restaurant).

I tend to thing that most off site never plan anything guests never even think of going to a resort for a meal.

I agree with this advice. I too would try odd times. When I made an ADR for our upcoming March trip I was able to get a 2:05pm ADR for lunch. Which would mean that we would just have to snack before that if we get hungry :goodvibes. And like the PP said, if are able to get a ADR...definitely have to get a chocolate Moose (Mousse) :cloud9:

To clarify. Le Ceiller is the only steakhouse restaurant on the ddp, thus the full name LeCeiller Steakhouse. It it is true..this restaurant was previously a walk-in restaurant until the dining plan gained a following.

Not exactly - it's the only ONE CREDIT "Steakhouse" on the DDP. Yachtsman Steakhouse accepts DDP, but charges two credits per person.

Yep, looks like I am typing short today. I normally state 1TS ticket...most people under ddp would rather spend 1 ticket than 2.
