"Lazy River" question re: TL and BB

How deep are the "lazy rivers" at TL and BB?

Do they have double intertubes so you can ride side-by-side with a child? If not, how do you make sure your child doesn't float too far away from you, short of holding onto her tube the whole time?

The lazy river is 3 feet deep.

They do have some double tubes, but smaller children may have trouble sitting in them. They also have small tubes for kids in which the center isn't open, so they just sit on top. We always just hold on to each others tubes to keep from getting separated.

Unless it's something brand new (or very old!) I don't think the lazy rivers have double tubes. Some of the slides do, but I have never seen them in the lazy rivers.

Both water parks will loan you a life vest for your child (free), so if they do fall off their tube they'll float. Just a little peace of mind for mom and dad.

It may only be 3 feet deep, but this old lady had a really hard time getting onto that float! I tried putting it on over my head and sort of backing up onto it. I tipped over backward. Not my best side up! Finally, a nice man came over and helped me. Did I feel stupid. In the meantime, DD had floated way on down. I had a really hard time catching up to her.

You have to hang on to the tube I'm afraid!! The 'current' is pretty strong, you can zip ahead quite easily. We've been round with my DS4, one of us usually just puts the ring around our body and floats around like that, then if we need to go and catch up with our son, we can just put our feet down and trot on over! I'm sure I have seen some double tubes on the river at BB, but there weren't very many.

TL has small inner tubes for kids with solid bottoms (last time I was there at least) - also good for blocking waterfalls! BB has small ones, but they have the standard hole in the middle.

BB and TL had doubles when I was there (2002 & 2004). There are not nearly as many as singles, and they go quickly.
