recently found this layer mask for elements 6 and 7 when i was working on a pastel type conversion i found in after capture( great magazine and free!)
freebie one click mask tool from graphicssoft, worked great. http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pselements/qt/layermasktool.htm
also the pastel conversion (my first try, the original version is in the photo assignment thread around page 4) the directions were for cs but worked fine with elements. only thing was the 3 step i desaturated via enhance, adjust remove color to get the sketch
