I just booked our trip and am SUPER excited. But I'm also really stressed out because in order to get home on time, we have to fly out of LAX. We have an 8:40 am flight, obviously need to be at the airport 2 hours before....so, how early should we leave from Disneyland? How long does it take to get to LAX and how bad should the traffic be if we are traveling fairly early in the morning?

so this made me think about getting to lax from disneyland also...we have an 11:35pm flight out on may 19th (thursday) and are taking the disneyland express...how does that work?

Which Airline Are you flying??? Southwest is right in front on the concourse. But other airlines may be at the back of the concourse.

We are flying back Southwest on a Wednesday. Our flight is at 12:55. We are leaving disneyland at 10am and our friends will be dropping us off at the airport. From what I hear on the boards, leave 3 hours before your flight.

Sunday, March 6th if there is any seasonal fluctuation. Thanks!

Okay, on a Sunday morning, you are looking at most likely no traffic. If you want to be at the airport 2 hours prior, I would leave DLR at around 5:30am.

Hope this helps!

jlwhitney, Disneyland Express will give you a pick up time.

Is Alaska/Horizon at the front or in the back? How hard is LAX to navigate?

Alaska/horizon is mainly in terminal 3. Lax is in the shape U with 7 terminals. However Lots of changes going on, so some flights are out of terminal 2. You'll know because of the gate number. 30-39 = T3 and 20-29 = T2.

I fly in/out of lax several times a month for me it's easy to navigate, but it really depends on day/time of flight. You could be competing with business travelers on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

If you have specific questions, let me know. I will do my best to answer them.

We had an 8:55 am flight from LAX on the first Sunday in December. We left Anaheim at about 5:45 am, no traffic, dropped our car at valet parking at one of the LAX hotels, the shuttle to the airport arrived immediately, we hopped aboard, checked our luggage and were through security by 7!

We have another Sunday flight in May and we are thinking once again about staying in Anaheim the night before so that we can get a little taste of DL before we head to WDW! -- Suzanne
