Hi, I am getting ready to book my flights for our DL trip in October. My DH hates LAX and would rather fly into SNA. We are flying from DFW and can do nonstop to LAX. If we fly into SNA we have a layover. (We are limited to United). SO for those of you who have travelled into LAX with small children, is it really that big of a deal or a pain to navigate? Would it be worth it to take the layover and fly into SNA? I was partial to the direct flight, my DH is partial to avoiding LAX at all cost. Any opinions from those who are familiar with these airports would be helpful. THANKS!

I like direct flights, no matter what airport you are traveling to with small kids. I hated LAX too... not because of crowds or "trouble" managing the airport though... just due to lack of stuff... the terminal we were in had no shops, a BK and a starbucks and a sportspub... that is it... so we were soooo bored for our 2 hours there...

We fly from DFW to LAX with our 3 kids when going to DL. I'd classify it as a pain but mainly with regards to getting to and from LAX rather than the particulars at the airport. LAX is just super busy when compared to SNA as well. I just traveled for business last week and flew from DFW to SNA. I can say that all of our future DL visits will be through SNA. It's very clean, not too busy, and most of all, very convenient to DL. Oh, and the rental agencies are right in the terminal which means no shuttle bus. And, with 5 of us and all of our luggage, that's a huge bonus.

Thanks.....hmmm...it's a tough call. I think i prefer SNA as well, but don't like the layover. We will be renting a car as well, so that sounds like a plus at SNA.
We are also here in McKinney, TX.

Since you are renting a car I would definitely fly into SNA. The drive from there to Anaheim is so much shorter and easier than the drive from LAX. Like you, I do not like connections but if you are not familiar with LA it can be a bit of a challenge to get around in. I have found the drive from SNA quick and easy.

Have a great trip.
