Hi,

i need to get from Los Angeles Airport to Los Angeles Union Station.

I have done some research and this is what i think is right.

Get the free shuttle and then from where the shuttle drops you off get the number 439 bus?

How long does the bus usually take?

Thanks

Yikes! I have no idea. Do you think there is a website that would tell you. For example a website about LAX or about the LA metro rail and bus system.

Most of us who live around here drive. Public transportation isn't used that much. You could always take a cab.

Here's the link to MTA which covers Los Angeles County public transportation:

I checked Lax to Union Station and it was a little confusing to me and said it would take 58 mins. It involves taking the metro rail for part of the trip. The metro rail does not extedend to the airport so there is a shuttle from the closes metro rail station to the airport. I do want to warn you that I remember reading an article where the writer tried to take the shuttle from the metro rail station to LAX and had a difficult time getting on. Seems a lot of airport workers who don't drive get dropped off at the station and take the shuttle in, filling it quickly.

Suz is right though: we've had such poor public transportation that we all drive cars. You'll be hard press to find a local on this board who can tell you anything about the bus system here. I can tell you that if you take a taxi, it'll take half the time to get to Union Station than on a bus.

What is your destination after Union Station? Are you trying to get to the Disneyland area? If so, I think there are buses that run from the airport to Anaheim/Buena Park area hotels.

from LAX take a shuttle or a cab to the Mariposa/Nash Green Line Metro Station, take the Green Line to the Blue Line to the Red Line to Union Station. From Union Station you can take the Metrolink train Orange County Line to Anaheim if you're going to the Disneyland Resort.

Here's a link with the LA Metro train lines.

I have no idea about the buses.
Good luck!

You should take note that Metrolink trains for Orange County only run in the morning and the late afternoons/early evenings on weekdays. I've tried to plan a day train trip with my kids from OC to Union Station and found that out. Seems it's geared to commuters going to and from work. Amtrak does have scheduled trains throughout the day though and on weekends. It'll cost you more than Metrolink but if Metrolink's schedule doesn't fit yours, Amtrak is an alternative.
