LAX to the Grand Californian Hotel

Hi,
We are flying into LAX next April and spending our first 3 nites at the Grand Californian hotel.Could anyone please give me some driving directions from the airport to the hotel with any "problems" to look out for.We have the general route from DVC but would like to hear from someone who is familiar with the route and the best way to go.
Any tips greatly appreciated.

I've never actually done this drive, but I live in the area. I would take I-105 east out of LAX. I'm guessing you're renting a car, so the rental agent should be able to get you on the 105. Take Supulveda Blvd. south (State Rt. 1) and you'll see the 105 on-ramp. 105 ends at I-605. Follow 605 north (the ramp that goes to the left) to I-5, only a mile or two. It may clog up a bit here, depending on the time of day. Exit to I-5 south. There's a Disneyland drive exit off of I-5, probably not 15 miles from when you get on I-5. Follow DL Drive to the Grand Californian. With normal traffic, it should take about a half-hour.

As to problem areas, any freeway in Southern California has the potential for problems. The junction of 605 and 105 is usually pretty tight, and 605 tends to back up quite a bit. The good news is that you're only on the 605 for a mile or two. They've made lots of improvements to I-5 in the DL area, it is probably 6 lanes wide where the DL exits are, so it shouldn't back up that much.
