LAX to Little Tokyo to Disneyland

I think renting a car one way will be the most sensible option. just be prepared for traffic.
there are great places yo eat in Little Tokyo and the surrounding area. have dinner there before you head to anaheim.

I endorse Little Tokyo! Out of convenience I would follow maltdizzy's plan: Take the FlyAway bus to Union Station, stash my luggage with Amtrak, walk or take the Gold Line subway to Little Tokyo and back, then take Amtrak to Anaheim, and either Lyft or ART to your hotel.

In addition to cost (about $60?), this plan also has the added benefit of not having to find/pay for parking in Little Tokyo, or drive all the way across LA, or drive from downtown to Anaheim...

You can drop off your rental car and they will drop you and your luggage at the hotel. Just check their closing hours to make sure it's feasible.

I wonder what you chose. I just searched Kayak.com and you can get a 1-way rental from LAX to the Disneyland Hotel for $68 on Priceline.

On July 30 I flew in to LAX and got a one-way rental, then drove to Little Tokyo to perform at the obon festival, then dropped off the car in Orange County near my in-laws' house for $100. This is so much better than any other option proposed in this thread that I'd be interested to know if you're even considering doing anything else.

And you know to use autoslash.com to monitor rental rates for you, right?

Haven't decided 100% but we'll likely do a one-day car rental via Alamo, pick it up LAX when we arrive, explore Little Tokyo, then drive down to Anaheim, check-in and drop off our luggage, and drop off the car at the Downtown Disney and then just walk back to the hotel.

On our fly-back day we'll just have SuperShuttle pick us up from our hotel to get to LAX.

Looks like booking direct through Alamo is $67.21.

Little Tokyo can be a challenge, but doable...

Without carrying the luggage around...

1) Baggage can be stored at LAX

2) Travel options to Little Tokyo

a) Flyaway to MTA Gold-Line Subway. And back to LAX.

Gold Line info:

b) MTA Green Line from LAX. To Blue Line, Red Line, then Gold Line to Little Tokyo.
(Tram Rail All-Day passes $6 each)

Green Line from LAX (bus shuttle to rail from LAX, many employees ride this):

All that train hoppin' and bus hoppin' seems like more trouble than it's worth. I figure the trunk of a rental car will suffice just fine as luggage storage.
