Our flight does not arrive into LAX until 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 30th. We have used the Disneyland Express numerous times, but never in rush hour. We plan on using the Disneyland Express again this trip, but we are wondering how much longer the trip will take during rush hour?

I can't really help with times since I don't drive that route very often but just wanted to say that I think May 30 is Memorial Day. This could either be a good thing or a bad thing. Less people will be working that day so maybe less comuter traffic but then a lot of people might be traveling home from 3 day weekends. Those people are likely to have more than one person in the car and therefore will be more likely use any carpool lanes along that route making the carpool lanes slower. Sorry, that doesn't really answer your question but just some other factors that may effect the drive time.

I would be prepared to have patience that day just in case

May 30th is memorial day but that could either be a good thing or a bad thing. My experience with holidays and SoCal traffic is that the end of a long weekend is heavy traffic with people coming back from vacation. But, you shouldn't really have the usual rush hour.

I would say to be prepared for it taking about 1 to 1 hour 15 minutes and if it takes less, you will be happy with that. but I would be prepared to add about 20-30 minutes to the usual time (which they say is about 45 minutes) because no one really knows what traffic will be like that day.

My experience with SoCal traffic is, hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.

Wow, yes your traffic will be BAD. I would not plan on getting to the resort until at least 6pm if you're picked up at 4pm.

Thank you for responding. We had forgotten about it being Memorial Day. We are from Canada and celebrate our long weekend, "Victoria Day" the weekend before. This day won't be a park day for us anyways so there is no hurry to get to the park. At least now we have an idea of what to expect. Thank you!

I think you'll benefit from it being a holiday Monday. Folks driving home from vacations won't generally take the same route (105 east -> 605 south -> 91 east -> 5 south) other than the short bit on the 5. It typically takes about 45 minutes from the time it leaves LAX - plz let us know how it worked out.

Whats Sunday traffic like? We will be arriving at 11:30 am on May 1st and taking the magical express somewhere around that time. We are from the Cincinnati area so we are not really use to more than 15 minute traffic delays. I'm prepared for a 2 hour commute but hopefully it won't be that long. Also we will be heading from the DLR back to LAX on Friday night, around 7 or 8 pm. Traffic bad then?

Traffic here is pretty much like any other major city, New York, San Fran, Washington D.C., etc. Sunday is fine, every city has a few bottlenecks and an accident that could add some time. Friday night should be fine, but could get congested around entertainment districts if you visit any.
