LAX to DL area hotels

Not sure how many days your pricing the rental car for but $250 seems pretty high if that is for one week. Make sure your using a site like Priceline or Hotwire. That being said, if its just the two of you and you really don't plan on leaving Disney than a rental car probably doesn't make the most sense. Especially if your hotel charges for parking. But if you plan a trip outside the bubble and parking is free, than a rental might make the most sense from a cost and time perspective.
I'll be there 9/24-9/29. I was using BJ's Travel and got the $250 prices. I just tried Priceline and it's $300 and up for a compact!!! We've been to CA before, but not DL so we don't plan on using a car at all (despite the fact that hotel offers free parking). So I'm thinking the shuttle, and potential longer commuting time, will be our best bet.

I was debating SS, a rental and uber for our August trip but it looks like Uber would just be the cheapest and quickest for us. Never used them before so I hear there's some code to save $20 or something on your first ride?

Rental fees are high at LAX because of the fees and taxes attached (facility, etc). Try one of the off-airport rental places like Fox or fly into SNA, where the fees are drastically lower. I can usually get an SNA rental for $20 a day after taxes...the same would cost me around $35 a day at LAX, ONT, and BUR.

I finally decided to go with Lanskys as well. They were quick to respond and made it very easy to book. I decided it was worth the extra cost for the peace of mind as well as being much quicker getting to our hotel.

We got back from our DLR/Universal trip last week and used SuperShuttle to and from the airport. We didn't wait very long and the van was nice. I think it was a newer van. It did continue down the terminal and picked up a couple more passengers. On the way back, I got a text that stated our van number. There was also a map that showed exactly where the van was, and you could see it moving on the map. Kinda cool! $32 each round-trip.

I used Karmel Shuttle and was very happy with them. They only take pre-booked guests, so no driving around to fill up the van.

I've just now asked for a booking with 4MostCoach based on recommendation, for our trip in September, there's four of us this time and it's a flat rate of $85 for all of us.

So if it was just the two of us, I'd use Karmel again, if 4 of us, 4Most works out cheaper.

Update, we arrived (later than expected) around 2:15 pm. There was no surge pricing, and I paid just under $60. However, there was a ton of traffic and it took about 1 hour and 15 min (Friday afternoon of a long weekend!)

Going back, we got an uber at 8 am from the Harbour (on July 4th), and it took about 35-40 min (no traffic!) and cost about $45 (so about the same as super shuttle would have been for the 2 of us).

When I dropped my daughter at LAX and took an uber to my business portion of my trip, surge pricing was in effect!

We're flying in next Sunday, and we thought about one of the shuttles or Uber. But after asking here, we decided to go with Lanskys. It's a little pricey, but they're going to let us stop and get some food for the room, and there are no additional stops, so it sounded like a deal to us.
We too booked Lansky for our to and from. I think the price was great for my family of 4. $100 there and $100 back, tax and tip included. Not having to make stops for anyone else will be sooooooo nice! Nothing like getting off the plane and getting on a shuttle only to make 15 more stops and arriving 2-3hrs later to your hotel. Plus Lansky's had amazing customer service and were so quick to respond to all my emails.
