LAX timing question

Okay we land at LAX at 9:30am. The shuttle pick up is at 10:00am. I am thinking there is no possible way we can make this shuttle. Are my thoughts correct? We will have to collect our checked bags too.

You shouldn't plan on being off the plane by 10am. Delays happen often. Just because it arrives at a time doesn't mean it unloads in an instant.

It will probably be fair to estimate it will take an hour, from landing to the curb in front of the shuttle. That's about 10 minutes to unload, 20 minutes to the luggage carousel, 10 minutes to find your bags, 5 minutes to the shuttle location, and 15 minutes of buffer just in case.

Sometimes you get lucky...my Westjet flight landed at 4:05 p.m. a week ago Monday and we made the 4:30 Disney Express, even with having to pick up 2 checked bags and having 2 small kids in tow. We were checked into our hotel and over to Goofy's Kitchen for our 6:30 reservations. Things couldn't have gone better. I imagine that more often than not, it WOULDN'T work out though.

I think it depends on many factors. When I flew into LAX in Oct/10, I flew Westjet, and 20 mins after landing at LAX I had my luggage, picked up my Honda Odyssey that I had booked through Execucar, and was on the road to DL. So it depends on many factors as to how long it's going to take you to get off the plane and get luggage. You just never know.

My worry wouldn't be flight delays, it'd be the luggage pickup.

For some reason I remember waiting an inordinate amount of time at LAX for the luggage carousel to start moving on my last trip.
