I am booking our flights home from CA today...we have a choice of LAX or ONT. Is there a preference of one over another? We are flying into San Diego an traveling up to Disneyland so flying home from the Anaheim area is preferred. We are flying on award tickets so price does not come in to play and the flight times/lengths are similar. It looks like distance to either airport from Anaheim is fairly close to the same. Any of you have a preference?

HI!! I've flown in and out of both. Ontario is a much smaller airport and easier to navigate. Less people, less hassle. I don't know about the difference in traffic to get there though. Enjoy:banana::banana::banana:

thanks! I was leaning more towards ONT as well, thinking it might be a smaller airport and easier to navigate etc. I am waiting on Southwest to open their schedule today so I am really hoping there are award seats available for the day we want to fly home...fingers crossed!

We are hopefully flying home on a Saturday therefore traffic should not be much of an issue, am I right? Or is traffic always an issue around there? ;)

Love ONT!:goodvibes We fly out of ONT all the time even though to WDW there are no direct flights. We'll be leaving out of ONT in April to go up to SF.

What I love about ONT is that it is a smaller airport and you can park really close. If you'll be returning a rental car or using a shuttle this won't be so important to you. However, ONT is fair less busy than LAX.

Saturday there should be little traffic as long as you are not going East on the 91 Freeway in the afternoon through Corona. That part of the freeway is just as bad on Sat. afternoon as it is M-F afternoon.

If your flight is leaving in the afternoon, don't take the 91 to the 15 to the 10. Take the 57 north to the 10 East. You will avoid the 91. If you are leaving later in the evening on Sat. it shouldn't matter.

I'm booked! Leaving ONT Saturday 8/21 on a 12:45 flight. Thanks for the traffic info....it will come in handy!

A lot of people might say ONT because it is a great airport (I assume BUR and SNA were not options?), but it really depends on the time of day. If you have an early morning flight or anything before 12 noon, I might say ONT, but after that, traffic can be horrific heading out that way so I would say LAX.

You should be okay at that time going either on the 91 or the 57 freeway. Most of the traffic in the morning on Saturdays is heading the other direction (West). You'll want to arrive at ONT by 11:15-11:30 at the latest so you will miss most of the traffic.

I seem to be the only person who prefers LAX. I've never found it difficult to navigate, and it's cheaper to get to and from if you're using SuperShuttle. Seriously disliked ONT! And the drive from ONT, too.

Too late now, hopefully you will not have our ONT experience!

See, I'm just the opposite. Seriously dislike LAX and will avoid at all costs. However a few years back when we could get a direct flight from LAX for $89 each way to MCO, we jumped on it. However, with all things being equal (ticket price wise) or even if LAX is a little cheaper, I will still fly ONT. Love it.:goodvibes Reminds me of OC in the old days.

BUR and SNA were also options, but their flight times/lengths were not ideal for us.

Not only is LAX way too crowded, but it is also a dump as well. Last time I flew out of the international terminal I thought wow this is no way to introduce America to foreign tourists.

As someone that has lived in Pomona Ca, I can tell you Ontario is way better
BUT!!!! Arriving anytime after 2pm heading towards LA will be a pain in the @ss.Expect a lot of traffic.
