LAX hotel FOR 5!!!

Having trouble with a hotel near the port ( Disney cruise) or near LAX that can accomidate a family of 5 for a resonable rate. ( any rate at that matter!)

I found Springhill suites in LAX/Mahattan Beach for $115. We like Springhill.
How far is it really from LAX? Guess we will have to rent a car, as they do not offer a shuttle.

A hotel at the port would be prefered, or even on close to LAX but can't seem to find one.
Anyone care to share their expertise?

Hi,

I just found your post - did you find any hotels ? Asking because I have recently been looking for reasonable accommodations for 5 too!

We plan on sightseeing in Hollywood prior to the cruise. I trying to look at Manhattan Beach up to Santa Monica or Beverly Hills.
A number of tour companies will pick up in these areas.

This is what I have found:
Summerfield Suites - El Segundo (close to Manhattan Beach)
Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham (Manhattan Beach)
Double tree suites Santa Monica

I have also found 2 vacation home rentals that look wonderful.

You may have booked already, but I would love to hear your finds too. I know great places to stay in Fort Lauderdale + Orlando but CA...

I ended up booking a hotel at LAX. Courtyard by Marriott.
They will pick us up by shuttle at LAX and take us to the hotel. We get in late, so we just need a place to sleep.
$89.00 AAA rate, so not too bad.

For the money we are saving on the airport hotel ( rather then a hotel AT the port) , we decided to rent a limo instead of a shuttle van to the port the next morning. For 9 of us the limo was only $135, as a shuttle van would have been around $90 to $100. Pretty good deal I think.

I hear you on Port Canaveral. With three cruises under our belt now I feel like an experienced cruiser in Florida!!! LA, well like you said, a very different story.
