Noooo! I remember when I used to work in NYC (Tribeca) we sometimes saw Jerry Orbach and Jesse Martin filming on the streets in the neighborhood!

The move to Friday has many times been a precursor of cancellation. I like the show but I think the current cast is a bit weaker then in the past.

It is surprising that they didn't let it go one more season just to make it past Gunsmoke.

Maybe it will move completely to the USA network. That is also owned by NBC.

It sucks for the TV industry in NYC. We don't get too many TV series filming here, as in Hollywood, where every day there is something new to film. Literally a 100+ people will be out of work because of this. Ugly Betty is gone too now. That also filmed in NY for a while.

Just heard!! I also heard (via Perez Hilton's website-- yes, it's a guilty pastime of mine, ) that SVU will run another season and that NBC is picking up Law and Order: Los Angeles (I think).
I'm bummed!

It is now on Monday nights. There are some rumors that it might move to TNT. I sure hope so. The new Law and Order is to be based in Los Angeles and will be title Law and Order: Los Angeles. I just feel bad for all the bit actors in NY that will be losing work.

That really stinks! On my local news this am they were saying that they didn't know yet whether or not L&O was going to get picked up for another season, I thought for sure it would just to beat out Gunsmoke!
I do agree that it is not as good as it used to be but I watch it every week nonetheless.

I think NBC executives are a bunch of turkeys for not allowing a "final" season so they can bring back some older characters and series regulars to give it a proper send off.
