You really need to consult with someone in your state as state laws vary greatly when it comes to divorce/separation.
I worked as a divorce/family law paralegal for over 25 years. The laws in our state varied greatly from the laws in the surrounding states. For example, in our state child support ends at age 18 or graduation from high school. One state over it continues through college. In our state the Court can't order a parent to pay for college. In all of our surrounding states the Court can order a parent to pay for college.
I suggest that you call you state's bar association and ask for a referral to an attorney that specializes in divorce/family law in your area.
