Wednesday 3 March 2010 - Day Fourteen
Eric slept until 6.30 am which was something akin to a miracle and then me and E got up properly at 7 am, leaving Andy to sleep in until 8.30 am. We packed up the villa and said goodbye to it around 10 am after breakfast.
We drove to the Magic Kingdom, parked up in Grumpy, took the tram and then the monorail to Epcot. Andy got us fastpasses for Soarin' and then we went to watch the Circle of Life show. Eric fell asleep which was pretty amazing because that show is so loud. (Obviously he takes after his mother who has been known to fall asleep in Lights, Motors, Action!) I managed to carry Eric out of the show still asleep, so we sat down at a quiet table in Sunshine Seasons and Andy went to get us some food. We shared a packet of cheetos (though we did save some for E), a turkey and cheese sandwich with chipotle sauce which came with a little potato salad, and a key lime pie. I had a hot chocolate and Andy had a coffee. Eric woke up with expert timing just after we finished eating, so Andy went to get him a Mongolian beef so that he could eat the rice and that, in theory anyway, we could eat the rest. Unfortunately, it came with broccoli which smelt so bad - and tasted pretty bad too! The beef wasn't up to much either - but Eric enjoyed his rice all the same.
After lunch we went back to Soarin' to ask about baby switch. We hadn't used this up to now as there aren't many rides we are bothered about that Eric can't come on with us. I hadn't realised that it works in the same way as fastpass - they gave me a baby switch pass to take into the fastpass line. It still took ages to get on though. Andy went first and me and Eric just ran around in the waiting and surrounding area. It's not the ideal place for running around in as it's very busy, but I don't think we stood on anyone.
I was lucky on my turn to get a seat on the front row, I was thrilled to bits, so it turned out to be worth the wait. Andy took Eric to look round the Living Seas pavilion whilst I was on Soarin'. They enjoyed looking at the fish and manatees. It took about an hour for us both to ride Soarin'. We watched Turtle Talk with Crush next and I'm pretty sure Eric was bored! He kept trying to leave!
We saw Chip and Dale outside and gave them both a big love. Eric was very excited to see them.
We went to Innoventions and played with the velcro wall and made a velcro frog which Eric enjoyed (and so did I, haha!)
Before we left the park we took pictures of some of the topiaries in the Flower and Garden Festival. We particularly liked the one of Daisy, Donald and Goofy camping. We also had a look at our Leave a Legacy tile.
We left and took the monorail and tram back to the car. We were headed for our two night stay at Disney! What I didn't know though was that we were not going to All Star Music as I thought...
Andy drove us round to the Contemporary for our surprise. We had talked a bit about going to Chef Mickeys so I thought the surprise must be tea there. I couldn't believe it when Andy told the security guard we were checking in! And not only were we checking in at the Contemporary, we were staying at BLT! I was completely overwhelmed when Andy told me. It was such a surprise, I hadn't suspected for a minute, and Andy said he thought I deserved a treat which was so nice of him.
We checked in and were allocated room number 7932 on the ninth floor. Andy went back to the car to get the cases and me and E ran round all excited. Then I carried on doing that and E sat on the bed contentedly watching Disney's Top ten attractions.
When Andy got back with the stuff we unpacked a little bit and then went down to the Contempo Cafe for tea. Me and Andy had a cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese each and fries. Eric ate fries as usual. I was very impressed that they had Disney colouring sheets for the children and brand new packets of crayons for them to use. I'm sure some of you will think I am easily impressed - you would be right.
After tea we took the monorail to MK to watch Wishes. What made this surprise even better was that I'd been complaining so much about how much of a hassle it was to get to MK when you're driving, so to be able to hop on the monorail and be there was truly magical. Eric fell asleep during Wishes again but we really enjoyed it.
We took the monorail back to the Contemporary after Wishes and went to the cafe to get Andy a coffee and me a tea. We also went to the bar and I got a Bacardi and Coke and Andy got a gin and tonic to take back up to the room.
It took a while to get Eric settled for bed, but he eventually dropped off after lying on my knee for a while watching Phineas and Ferb ("Ferb").
The surprises weren't quite finished for the day because we were able to watch the Electric Light Pageant from our balcony at 10.15 pm! I was super excited and danced the whole way through. There was hardly anyone around so I could have believed they were putting the show on just for me and Andy. A wonderful end to a wonderful day.
We had baths, drinks and crisps and didn't get to bed until 12.30 pm - you could tell we had arrived at Disney proper!
