Laura's Shuttle VERY BAD SERVICE

Are you talking to me?

Hmm, let's see, I have been to Disney on and off every year since I was a small child. Usually stay at the Poly. Going again end of this month, but adding Universal too.
Actually I was addressing the OP(so I will edit my post to reflect that).

I wanted to know when they went so as to see if there might have been any other outside influences like July4th weekend, etc. When you actually use services does have an influnce on service recieved.

I personally have never heard of this company, and the review is nice to have(thank you OP), but was this company only in business for 2 weeks or 2 years?

I cannot blame some of the posters for being sceptical...sorry OP(nothing against you)...a while ago there used to be people who posted to drum up business for their companies, and discredit other companies. I do not think you are trying to do this...but just wanted to make you aware that it has been done in the past. There are certain company names that are blocked from being posted to this board as well.

Welcome and I hope you otherwise had a good trip, and more insight to impart! :goodvibes

welcome to the boards, corlando60!!
& TY for sharing your experience.

(i may have under 1K posts, but have been on DIS since May 2000, AND btw, on RADP for years before that. & a simply wonderful person ;) who doesn't post much due to time & typing ability constraints) :teeth:

It shouldn't. If a shuttle can't handle the business, they shouldn't book it, regardless of what time of year it is.

You are completely incorrect that a lot of shuttles drop off there.
Many off site hotel to Disney shuttles use TTC as their only on site drop off and pick up location.

Not sure how many town car companies refer to themselves as shuttles. Mears does, and also (obviously) does a company named Super Shuttle that does lots of airport to hotel business in many other cities.

I was referring to airport shuttles. I have NEVER heard of one dumping passengers and luggage at the TTC. If the service is hiring drivers that are that clueless, they probably shouldn't be in business. I certainly wouldn't want to ride on them. What's next--taking their service to Port Canaveral for DCL and ending up in Tampa on a Carnival ship?

I appreciate your warning. I'm sure I'm still in the single digets as far as posting. But, Ive been to Disney 10 times; this will be my first time as the parent. I'm a member of several boards and I find a lot of times there are cliques. People sometimes don't care that it's hard to be the new guy. As a mother of two children, 3 and 1, I don't have time to respond to posts soley to raise the number I've written so someone will find me "credible." I was so excited to find this board, and my second (or third, can't remember) day after joining I've been left with a very bitter taste in my mouth.

The OP was coming from a hotel near the airport, not from the aiport. Whilst staying offiste I have used two shuttles that dropped off at TTC.

Hi Peaches...Welcome to the DIS!!! Try not to have that bitter taste in your mouth. Most folks here are pretty well-intentioned. Sorry if you have't felt welcomed here. I myself an no lover of cliques. Had more than enough of those in school......still gives me the willies! Not part of any DIS clique that I can think of...but, I have met some pretty terrific people here. Many of whom I call 'friend', in person now. So, please, feel free to ask away, or to give advice based on your many trips!!! We all have something to offer.
I sure would hate it if people started staying away from our boards because they felt less than welcomed!!

Now, based on the direction this thread has taken, it may be time to lock it up. I'll check back later to see how it's going.

You ought to make a complaint with the hotel that arranged for this company.

Edd's post is more than enough backup information. I wouldn't use the company.

The aforementioned BBB report doesn't say anything. The company is not a member of the BBB and as such chose to ignore the one complaint that BBB forwarded to the company. One unanswered complaint resulted in the unsatisfactory rating.

But this person was going to a HOTEL with luggage. I have never heard of a shuttle hired to transport guests to their HOTEL with luggage dumping them at the TTC.

And if you think I"m rude, put me on ignore. Trust me, it won't break my heart.

I was going from a hotel to Downtown Disney and prearranged service before I left home. The hotel is the Ramada Inn on McCoy Rd and they recommended this service. I have to admit I was only posting for just a matter of info to all Disney goers.

Just to all of you that are looking for a shuttle service I am just honesty trying to tell you that Laura's is not the one you want.

Lewis,

More than likely a front desk clerk has the number to the shuttle and collects money to refer the passenger to this shuttle. If I should get by the hotel I will stop in and talk with the manager.

Nana Annie,

Don't let it bother you. A lot of people on the boards don't care for me. I don't think I have popped any new grey hairs over it yet. Just keep writing what you feel, know or want to write. Best thing to do is let the thread die. People are people and they have a right to say what they think. Some of them are messed up, but who cares.

I'm sure the hotel or desk clerk got some kind of kick back BUT I'm sure there are good services that also pay a commission.

The OP should consider calling the hotel. No excuse for recommending such a horrible company.

Called Mike at 407-851-8730 to reserve a spot on Laura's Shuttle. He was helpful and considerate. We had special travel plans that would require my girlfriend and I to travel alone, apart from a large group of other shuttle users, and Mike of Laura's shuttle was willing to accomadate us. The charge would for this individual shuttle service would cost more, or course, so Mike and I agreed to a total round trip charge of $150 ($75 per person). After this agreement, we changed our special travel plans to something more usual, that would allow us to travel with a group of other shuttle travelers, and we called Mike back to get the rate lowered to the usual $35 per person round trip ($70 total) since we would no longer require traveling alone. Mike agreed. This was in early to mid July 2010. We used the service, and it got us to and from where we needed to go, no frills, but no problems, so for $35 per person round trip, their normal charge, I would have been happy. When my credit card statement arrived a month later, the charge was $150. I called Laura's Shuttle to explain the error and get the charge adjusted, and spoke with Mike. He said he recalled dealing with us on this and would credit $80 back to my card, no problem. The following month, I received a credit card statement, and still no credit was made to me by Laura's Shuttle. So I called Mike again. He said one of the "Billing ladies" must have made an error, and that he would personally look into it and take care of it. I thanked him for his assistance with this, after all, mistakes happen. The next month my statement came and still no credit from Laura's Shuttle. I called Mike again. He said he would take care of it. Next month's credit statement, no credit. You get the picture. I gave up on Mike being a man of his word, so I took the issue up with my credit card company. Unfortunantly, too much time had passed at this point for me to successfully dispute the charge with the credit card company's assistance, so I was forced to pay the extra $80 to Laura's Shuttle for services I did not agree to and did not receive. If you have taken the time to read this review, I hope that you choose not to do business with Laura's Shuttle. If you choose to do business with Laura's Shuttle anyway, please make sure you get everything from them in writing, especially billing changes, and please do not expect anything except bare bones trasportation from this business. It is clear to me from my expereince that Mike, and anyone may be in a supervisory position above him who is aware of my dispute, are clearly unethincal. As a business man myself, I know that the apple does not fall far from the tree, and I would expect Laura's Shuttle ability to sustain it's business will get worse over time. If they are willing to gain $80 in the short term at the long term risk of having reviews like this posted all over on the web, then their business judgment is fundamentally flawed. Once the Laura's Shuttle brand name is tarnished, please beware of anyone named Mike in this business. He sounds like an older man, and be especially wary of any shuttle business using the 407-851-8730 phone number. Wish I could do more to help. Whatever you choose to do, enjoy your trip, and good luck finding a good shuttle company to use.

I certainly don't understand why a thread that is over 4 years old has been renewed. Hopefully it is as it appears to be, but I will be watching for any funny business.
On another note, the vast majority of towncar services do not book by the person. They book a car, for up to 5 guests. That car runs about $110 or so, r/t, plus tip. I just don't understand any company charging by the person.
