Day nine 29 September 2006 two compliments in one lifetime?
Mickey and Stitch woke us up at 8.15 am this morning. We had coffee and Special K bars in bed, and then got ready and set out to Epcot arriving around 10.30 am.
We head straight to Soarin to get a Fastpass and then go on Living with the Land. I thought this was much better than the first time we went on it a few years ago.
We looked around Innoventions West and sent photo postcards to our parents. By now, it was time to go on Soarin. After we were seated, a CM moved a girl of about 12 next to us on the third row as she had been too scared to sit at the front having never been on the ride before. None of her party would come and sit with her so I tried to calm her down by telling her about the ride, and how I had been scared of it the first time too, as I am really scared of heights. Just before the ride started she asked if she could hold my hand, and she squeezed it all the way through, bless her. I said well done to her afterwards, but Im not sure shell be on it again in a hurry.
We went for a cigarette after Soarin and had the usual fight with the lovebugs. We got talking to a guy from Florida who told us that lovebugs had been introduced in Florida to try to get rid of the mosquitoes, but it didnt work so now they are not only plagued by mosquitoes, but lovebugs as well. Every time I squished one after this, I said I was doing my bit for Floridas ecosystem! He also told us that the little lizards are not native to Florida (but they are cute and they do eat bugs) but poisonous snakes are so they have to be careful when gardening! We go on our way thinking that we knew there must be a reason why we dont live in Florida!
We have a walk round the World Showcase and in Norway, I try the Laila perfume as I am looking for a new one. Unfortunately, it is too strong for me and gets on the back of my throat, back to the drawing board.
We headed back to Future World and got a fastpass for Test Track. We then head to Seasons in the Land for lunch. We shared a ham and salami sandwich, a turkey and cheese sandwich and some chips that tasted like rivita. As we are looking for a bin to put our rubbish in, a manager comes over and takes our tray off us and asks how our experience of the food court was thats Disney service for you.
We used our Test Track fastpass after lunch and then decide to go over to MGM on the boat to see if we can get there in time for the Stars in Motor Cars Parade. We make it into the park at 3.05 pm with moments to spare, and end up in a great position to see the show and get some clear pictures.
After the parade, we get a diet coke and wander round a couple of shops to cool down. We went to the Magic of Disney Animation so that we could get our pictures with some heroes of ours, Mr Incredible and Elastagirl.
Next we watched the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, and on our way round to the tattoo stand we see one of the soldiers from Toy Story and stop for a picture.
I get a cutie Pooh tattoo on my arm (aww, so sweet).
We do Star Tours next which I love and never get fed up of. As we were leaving the park we see Mulan and Mushu out for photographs and rush up for a pic as this is a rare opportunity.
We arrived back at the AKL about 6 pm, have baths and head out to the House of Blues for tea. We both love the Blues Brothers, and this restaurant. We only have to wait around 10 minutes for a table, even though they estimate about a 30 minute wait. I am very happy because the lady who takes us to our table compliments me on my pink cherry necklace.
I have the same thing as I always do in here, an Elwood sandwich, and Andy has baby back ribs. We share a piece of Key Lime Pie for dessert - officially my favourite dessert ever.
After tea we look round the HoB shop, and I get three badges for my gigging jacket be nice or leave, soul sister, and help ever hurt never. We then go in the Virgin shop and stock up on albums - we get the new Scissor Sisters and Electric 6 CDs, and a Simple Plan CD, and Andy gets a book about Dave Grohl. I get some Harajuku Lovers badges and writing paper with stickers. When we go to the counter to pay, the lady who serves us compliments me on my Harajuku Lovers jacket and asks where I got it from.
We get back to the AKL at 10.45 pm. Andy had a beer and I had a fuzzy navel and we got to bed about 11.45 pm.
