Laundry

Has anyone had to do laundry at Disney?
We are going to be staying for 8 nights and we may need to wash clothes.
I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on the subject.
We are staying at the CRS for the first time.
Thanks!

We do laundry every trip. I have a collapsable hamper with handles that makes carrying it to the laundry room easy. I always take my detergent and dryer sheets with me because I have allergies, but you can buy it in all the laundry rooms. When I do laundry, I start the washers, note the time and then come back just before the machines stop (usually 25 minutes, same with dryers). So many times I have to wait for washers to open up because someone doesn't come back for their wash when it's done.:rolleyes1 No big deal, just work it into a pool day...:goodvibes

We do the same, as we're from the UK we usually go to Orlando for 3 weeks so we always need to do washing :confused3.
Because I usually do quite a bit through our stay I usually buy detergent from walmart etc.
As the above poster said just time it and go back for it, no need to be wasting disney time in the laundry room.....:goodvibes

Note that the Disney dryers take at least two cycles of the dryer. So plan for that or you'll have very damp clothes.

We actually enjoy laundry day during our stays at CSR! Well, DW does all the work, so I'm sure I like it more than her. We pur our dirties in one of our large suitcases & wheel it over to the Cabana quiet pool laundry. While DW starts the wash, I head over to the Dig Site for some food & Fiesta Margaritas. We then spend the waiting time at the quiet pool & a hammock on the beach. We've also done the wash at S/D, where we liked to get a pizza at Tubbi's (now Picabu) while we wait. POR has a laundry/quiet pool very near the bar/snack bar at the main pool. POFQ's was right next to the pool--had the awesome beignets & swam while the clothes were drying. Sorry this turned into such a long reply, but wanted to show how it doesn't have to be a really bad thing to do laundry at WDW.

I found that the dryers at the main pool @ Pop worked very well and didn't really need the whole cycle. I had one load that was at least 5 or 6 pair of mens heavy cotton cargo shorts and it dried in one cycle.
