Has anyone heard of laundry service at the Deluxe resorts? We're staying at YC and I'm interested in turn around time, price list, and good/bad experiences. TIA! :)

We've always used the laundry service at the GF. Mainly because there are only 2 washers and 2 dryers for the whole building there. THe turn around time is great - as long as you call by 8:30 they'll have it back that night. It is very expensive though. I think we spent over $400 for the two weeks we were there. This time we had some issues with the quality of service. Two shirts came back with spots on them - after we complained they were redone and miraculously the spots came out. Also some of the shirts were not ironed very well and were a little wrinkled. It may just have been that we were there during an extremely busy time (4th of July) because we never had any problems with the laundry service in prior years.

I've used it a couple times, but only for DH's dress shirts. (I don't launder those at home, and I'm CERTAINLY not going to do it on vacation LOL!)

Otherwise, I'm too cheap to spend the money, I use the washers and dryers if I really need to. The laundry service is really expensive, as you are charged by the piece rather than the pound. In all honesty, I can only think of maybe three times I did laundry at WDW unless we were in a DVC Villa, which is too convenient NOT to do it!

I also think the laundry service is very expensive - so a few years ago I just did two loads of laundry myself. Since the laundry area at the YC is located at the quiet pool, it wasn't a hardship. In fact, there is a phone right by the "laundry room" - we called and had lunch and drinks delivered to the pool while the laundry was in the dryer!!

I also do some laundry every trip (since we only take carry-ons, so we need to do laundry, LOL!). I pick up a roll of quarters before the trip, and pack three or four dryer sheets in a baggie (they're two bucks at Disney - for a sheet!!!!!). Sometimes I bring detergent (Target has a cute little bottle of Tide that's good for four washes, or you could bring a few of the Wisk laundry disks).

This all makes it painless for me. I usually plan a "resort day" in the middle of our trip and do the laundry then. And I always seem to be throwing in those brand-new Disney shirts!

Bump! :teeth:

Thanks for the input this far!

Anyone have more specific pricing examples? Like how much a pair of shorts or a non-dress shirt would be to have them cleaned and pressed? TIA!

Bump!

Really don't want to do laundry on my vacation! But I don't want to overspend either... :confused3
