What kind of laundry options are there in concierge that the rest of the ship doesn't have? Other then the laundry machines on the lower floors and the pick up/drop off laundry service, do concierge have options when it comes to their laundry?

TIA!

Unfortunately there aren't any other options in Concierge.

Agree, there are no further options for concierge passengers than regular passengers.

I just asked Shoreside and got this reply.......
Thank you for reaching out and the ship will offer valet laundry service or self-serve. There will be a laundry bag in the closet that can be used for valet and you would want to speak with your stateroom host about getting that taken care of.

Basically the same as everyone else.

I definitely wish they did it like some other lines when you cruise in a suite (which for many is basically like Concierge without the hosts). Our last non-DCL cruise all same-day laundry was free for Suite guests. We used it a couple of times. It was fantastic. I don't see why it couldn't be offered for Concierge as an added bonus. We *always* send laundry out since we tend to pack light and we usually travel for 2-2.5 weeks at a time.

I suppose DCL feels they "give" enough perks to the Concierge guests.

Probably, though the "perks" they have really aren't that much compared to so many other lines. It's a bit disappointing, honestly, but we like being able to spread out in a larger room so we keep doing it.

They probably feel that if you've paid that much for your room, you probably want to spend your time enjoying the perks, not sitting in a laundry room, not to mention that you probably have enough extra money to pay for any laundry pieces to be done for you. I agree that having laundry free for concierge sounds like a no-brainer.

Concierge guests would probably abuse it (like sending most of their clothes to laundry on the last day of the cruise), it would grow into a drain on staff resources, then DCL would discontinue it. I'm fine using the paid service for an item or two here and there. Their prices are comparable to hotel chains.

On a ship with 4000+ people needing laundry services, I doubt about 200 people would be a significant drain on resources. As noted previously, other lines offer same day for free to their Suite guests and they apparently don't have any issues.

Just curious, would most cruisers be comfortable with CM's cleaning their clothes including undergarments?

We tend to slightly over pack so laundry isnt an issue that we find important as an occasional concierge cruiser.

we do the same but for our upcoming 7 day cruise, we think we'll have to do some

Don't know about "most", but certainly cruisers do feel comfortable with CMs cleaning their clothes. Even undergarments. Although, it's generally not a good idea to send anything that can't be washed and dried on HOT settings, as that's what's used in the laundry.

I'm fine with it. My knickers even come back pressed and folded. :o The biggest thing is making sure you find the little iron-in tag before you put anything on, because that puppy scratches and itches like the Dickens if it's in the wrong place.
