Laundry help needed!!!!!

My DS17 washed his white t-shirt with maroon printing on it in hot water. He now has a pink t-shirt with maroon printing!

This t-shirt is part of his casual uniform for band. He needs to wear it tonight.

How do I get the pink back to white without removing the maroon printing? I've tried oxyclean. Any other suggestions?

You need to load the washing machine with Oxyclean and let it sit for a few hours. Don't use the recommended amount of Oxy, use about 3-4 scoops and let it sit.

I have had success with this method several times. The only time it didn't work was when I tried bleaching my DD's white socks first and they turned orange... with pretty white lace at the top. ARG! Even the oxy couldn't undo what I did.

I've had success with a product called RIT it comes in a box and is usually down the laundry aisle. Not sure what it will do to the letter though. We sometimes have very rusty water here and if I"m not careful and do wash my clothes come out tan. I then have to do another wash using the RIT and they come out normal color again

Did you dry it? If not, don't dry it in the dryer, the heat will set the color.

If the letters are stamped on (the kind you can feel) As a last resort, try laundering it with a small amount of bleach. I wash white tee shirts with printing and designs, such as the Quick Silver tee shirts, Bubba Gump tees, etc, in bleach all of the time and the lettering or design never fades.

OK, I'm going to try the oxyclean some more. I went to Walmart and bought the Rit. I'll try it as a last resort. I'm afraid of what it will do to the printing.

Unfortunately, I can't replace this t-shirt. He got it from the High School Band and they didn't order extras. He was to wear it tonight to perform in the half time show!

He should have put the shirt in the laundry for me to do. Instead he waited to the last minute and threw it in after I went to bed last night. The label clearly says wash in cold water. Of course he didn't read it and washed in hot water. KIDS!!!!!
