It's been a while since we stayed in a studio so I cannot remember if there is a laundry basket in the closet or not. We would like one for our upcoming stay since we are packing light and plan to do a load of laundry each night. If there is not one provided, can we request one? Would we call housekeeping or is that under "maintenance"?

Thanks!

There isn't one in studios. Not sure about the request. We usually just use a bag.

No dedicated laundry basket in DVC studios and I do not know if you can request one.
I have used one of the trash containers with the plastic bags as one in the past.

I bring a collapsible hamper (left over from when the kids were in college) and we toss dirty clothes in that whenever we're on vacation. They take up almost no room in the luggage and you can sometimes find them at the dollar stores.

I used to have a pop-up hamper, but I also would pack it in our checked bag (bigger). For this trip, I have a 19" spinner and a backpack so I am not 100% sure I will be able to fit a pop-up hamper. I'm headed to the dollar store today to grab a few pairs of cheap sunglasses so I will look for a hamper. I am also going to look for a pop-up/collapsible dish pan. I have some Epsom salts that I want to use to soak my feet, but since we are in a studio, I don't want to tie up the bathroom (i.e. the only toilet) when I sit and soak my feet after our day at the park.

I just use a very large reusable shopping bag, works great and easily fits in my luggage.

Just call housekeeping and see if they have one for you to use.

I just use my luggage. Toss the dirty clothes in there to haul to the laundry room and then use it to bring the clean ones back to the room. Worked great for me.

We bring a pop up, too. Stays in our vacation bin when we get home so we have it for every trip.

Poly was the first studios to get laundry baskets. Don't know about CCV but the other resorts do not have them.

I think you're thinking of a different sort of pop up hamper. The ones we have take up almost no space, are usually just put in the zippered part of the divider in the carryon.

They sell small pop-up hampers at Dollar Tree. I use them anytime we're on vacation since it helps to keep the room organized.
They take up very little space when folded (maybe 6" in diameter and 3/4" think. You'd be able to pack on easily.

I love the idea of the reusable food store shopping bag ;)

Us too!

I just use a large laundry bag. On laundry day I pop it into a suitcase and roll it to the laundry room. My laundry bag packs down to practically nothing (smaller even then a pop up hamper) I stash the bag under the vanity and everyone plops their laundry in it throughout the trip.
