Hello all,
I have a question for y'all. Can we use the truck to take the laundry to wherever the washers/dryers are? I think I read that you can only use your vehicle to enter and leave. We are undecided about renting a cart. (If we do we will get it off site from the Kenny guy that y'all talk about so thanks for that info :thumbsup2 ) We are staying for 2 weeks with 3 kids so I really can't get away with not washing clothes :sad2: Just wondering what y'all think. Thanks :)

2nd trip to Disney World June 13th- 27th First trip to the Fort:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

You could drive the truck to the laundry area, park over to the side and drop off your clothes. There is really not a place to park for any length of time at the areas I know. I can not tell you how smart it would be to get a golf cart especially with your 3 kids. We rented one from Kenny at Tee Time in Dec when we were there for 2 weeks and we will never go without one again. (We have DD2 and DD10months)

We did use it for laundry but also navigating around the Fort, going to the marina to catch the boat, etc. Also, be sure you bring your lown laundry detergent, dryer sheets, etc. very expensive to buy there.

Have fun!!

There really isn't anywhere to park a vehicle near any of the comfort stations. If you go with 2 people you might be able to pull over long enough to let someone jump out quickly, but that's about it.

If you think this will be an issue for you, you can put in a request to be near a comfort station and tell them why. Just keep in mind that it's only a request - although Disney usually does their best to accommodate if they can.

The only "legal" parking areas for vehicles inside the Fort are at your site/cabin and the 15 minute parking at the Meadows.

Unless you're in a very unusual spot, we would walk to the laundry before we bought a cart. The comfort stations are all over the place. Moving the truck around for every little trip becomes more of a hassle than a help (IMO).

Since the laundries are in the comfort stations, acccessibility depends on which loop you are in. This Christmas we could not even take the golf cart near the laundry in the 500 loop, so we wound up using the 300 laundry. :laundy: I don't think there are any that are very accessible to trucks. The only real parking spots besides the overflow lot are at your site and short term in front of the Meadows Trading Post.

It is not intended that you would use your vehicle to move anywhere around the campground...maybe a way to entice you to rent a cart. But as mentioned elsewhere, the carts have so much more to offer for moving around the Fort if you follow the rules when you use them. There is a need to be especialy mindful of the rules with several recent serious GC wrecks. The rules are not very restrictive, but are intended for the safe and responsible operation of the carts.

We came to the Fort many times before renting a cart. Then we did a trip with a one day rental followed by a trip with a one week rental before we bought our own. We love the flexibility and freedom it gives us.

Unless you are in one of the loops without a comfort station (600 and 700) it really shouldn't be an issue just to put the clothes in a bag and walk there.

There is parking for the quiet pool laundry room it is at the start of the 2500 loop and even has a sign "laundry parking".:laundy:

I second this. We requested to be near a comfort station and were placed right next to one. It wasn't nearly as loud as I thought it would be (we went in Oct.) Very convenient, as we don't have a bathroom in our pop-up and I knew would be doing laundry once.

Sorry, you wont be able to use your truck to haul the laundry,,
you'll need the truck to haul the quarters for the machines.

I've never seen anyone patrolling whether or not you are using your vehicle to leave the park or not. They might notice more if you are continuously cruising the campgrounds or something.

Whenever I stayed at the campsites, I carried my laundry. Not easy as I had four kids with me on that trip (the youngest was 9 months old). Thankfully, it wasn't a very long walk even when we stayed in the 2000 loop.

This last time we were there, we stayed in the cabins. I rented a golf cart from Kenny which was a life saver in more ways than one. I am far from lazy, but it was nice having it to navigate such a spread out resort after spending all day chasing kids around the massive parks. It saved us a lot of crankiness.

I've seen people pull up in their vehicles to drop off or pick up the laundry many times. I've also seen people use those rolling grocery carts with pop up storage cubes as laundry baskets which I personally thought was really neat. I've also seen someone use a plastic hamper that had wheels on it and a retractable handle. I guess it really depends on what you have room to bring along with you.

100 & 200 have a parking lot across the street:rolleyes1
No I think that is a basketball court:3dglasses
