I was wondering, would or could a launch from the Kennedy Space Center delay a sailing or would the ship leave earlier or later to avoid the launch area.

We're frequent cruisers....we had 2 trips where the captain really hustled to get up back as near to the port as they would allow so that we could see a launch. Unfortunately, in both instances, the launch was cancelled.

They do have rules about how close to the cape a "ship at sea" is allowed to come....I don't know if that affects a ship in port.

I guess that's what I meant, a ship at sea. I see a launch is scheduled for May 11, 2004 and as you said they do cancel launches. I thought any cancelation and reschedule may impact embarkation from port.
