So, we are going to see Blue man group the night of may 11th, and I booked dinner for Latin Quarter afterwards....Well, I just received a voicemail that they will be closing the restaurant due to a corporate event. :sad1:

With that said, we will also be at universal on Tuesday, the 8th....I was thinking of switching to that night so we can still try it, but now I was thinking Emerils. We have eaten at Emerils, never at Latin Quarter. Does Lation quarter compare to Emerils? Thanks!

You can't really compare them because they are totally different styles. Are you talking about the Brazilian place upstairs or the regular Latin Quarter?
We love the Latin Quarter and always have good meals there.

You can't compare Latin Quarter to Emeril's because they are so totally different! It's definitely great to try; I've always had good meals there. And their flan is yummy!

They do have a churrascaria option in the upstairs section. That's a different experience, which I have not yet tried.

If you go to Emeril's may I suggest the tasting menu?....You get a seat at the Food Bar, watch the kitchen in action and have a great 5 course dinner with wine parings....it's out of tis world! (last time we were there...Emeril was onsite due to his appearence on Ellen Degeneris's Show taping)..the Latin Quarter is also really great, they give you alot of food...and it really is night / day different than Emeril's....I would try Latin the 8th and Emeril's on the 11th....just make reservations at Emerils ahead of time!

The tasting Menu sounds great! Should I just call the restaurant directly?

My wife and I had been to Universal Orlando several times in the past, but we had never tried The Latin Quarter. On our last trip, back in Oct. 2010, we finally tried it because of the suggestions here on the Disboards. We loved it! It is now a "must do" on all future trips.

As for how it compares to Emeril's, on that Oct. trip, we also did Emeril's (1st time for my sister, her husband, my mom, and my dad; 3rd time for my wife and I), and everyone enjoyed The Latin Quarter better.
