lather, rinse, repeat.

Not if you're referring to shampoo. :lmao:

I heard a speaker once say that one little word placed on a bottle effectively doubled the entire shampoo market. "Repeat."

I do sometimes....if I feel extra dirty or I've been sick. Somehow that extra shampoo makes the difference.

Nope - I'm not a repeater. I figure the separate conditioner replaces the need to repeat.

Any Friends fans out there.....I can here Phoebe now.... "Lather Rinse Repeat, Lather Rinse Repeat..As Needed" :happytv:

Sometimes if I feel like my hair is particularly dirty or I have been particularly sweaty. On a normal day, I do not repeat.

I agree that if I'm feeling especially gross/slimy/dirty I might repeat. Normally I do a "suds-check"; if my initial wash isn't creating much in the way of suds, I may repeat. :thumbsup2

Not very often tho.

I do. I usually have so much styling product & leave in conditioner on my hair that the shampoo doesn't seem to be able to clean all the way down to the scalp. First shampoo is to get all the nasty product off. Then a second shampoo to deep clean the scalp. If I feel it's not that dirty, no, I won't do a second shampoo.

I'm a repeater, usually with a different shampoo though... Habits die hard.

I repeat. I have incredibly thick hair and the shampoo doesn't feel like it gets through it all on the first pass.

This is what I do.

I don't repeat and rarely do it once. I was searching on-line this summer for a homemade hair gel recipe and found a site/forum for people with curly hair, which I have. It said how the shampoo's chemicals are too harsh and they condition-wash instead, sometimes using shampoo once a week or every few weeks, some never use it.

Since starting this my hair has never had so much curl to it or has the curl lasted throughout the day and my hair is no longer dry. The conditioner acts like a wash, you apply conditioner to hair/scalp and use your fingertips to really massage/lightly scrub your scalp for about 3min, this loosens product and stimulates the scalp. I leave that in while I wash/shave and then rinse it out. While my hair is soaking wet I apply more conditoner, usually Pantene and a leave-in then apply gel to still soaking wet hair. It does not over condition my hair at all or make it too limp. My scalp also is no longer itchy.

I started using Wen hair cleanser recently. It does not foam, and it makes my hair very soft and shiny. It is VERY expensive, and now I am wondering if it is just conditioner as I have heard of another Disser who used conditioner to wash their hair.

I am going to try just using regular Fructise conditioner the next time and see if it does the same as the Wen. Then if it works I am going to feel pretty stupid for paying $30 for a bottle of conditioner.

Thanks for the tip!

I don't usually repeat but I did a few weeks ago. We sent a kid home from my class with head lice. I watched the health clerk check his head after he kept scratching I saw some little whitish things in his hair. She pulled back one section of hair and something was moving in there! The rest of the day all of us who work in the classroom were itchy all over. When I washed my hair after that, I did repeat! Yes, I know washing your hair doesn't kill lice, but I felt better scrubbing my head over and over. And no, I didn't get lice. I was just itchy at the thought of it!:scared1:

I have not heard of the WEN line but I just looked it up, and the website says it's a cleansing conditioner. So it is probably just the same as using any conditioner to wash with. The almond mint sounds like it smells great though!
