Latest WOC FP Advice

We will be at the parks next week!! yay!
I'm looking forward to seeing the new(or old) WOC. We saw the 60th one twice and I'm ready for a change!
I'm wondering what the current situation is with fast passes. We will probably opt for the second showing assuming the wait is better. Can anyone tell me where and when to line up to get the best chance at a rail seat? I know there are desert parties and dinner options, but we are doing the F! BB package and both are not in the budget. We have 5 park days so waiting is not a problem. I just want to do it correctly. On a previous trip a CM told us to wait by Little mermaid until the first show was over then come to the entrance. When we approached the entrance we were told to go back to the bridge and get in line and be walked over by a CM. Needless to say, by that point we were at the back of a huge crowd of people and ended up with not so great view. Again, I don't mind the wait, just want to wait in the right spot and be toward the front of the line.
Also...do the machines still distribute the first show FP first then move to 2nd show? Any idea about what time that changes during the day or can you tell from the app?

Yes about the distribution, but the timing is unpredictable. On July 4th they were still distributing FPs for the first show at 8pm.

The WOC Superthread is still accurate. Yes they distribute FPs in the smae order.

The CMs stationed around the FP machines can tell you what they are currently distributing. Also, if you didn't know, they've moved the FP machines from where they used to be by GRR - they are now near the entrance to Little Mermaid.
