latest resturaunt reservations?

Hi guys could anybody tell me what is the latest time you can make a reservation for an evening meal in Disney Parks.
I know of course that the parks close at 7pm during the time we are staying so does that mean you would of have to ate your meal and left the resturaunt by 7pm....I am a little confused!
Only 2 weeks to go now and am getting a bit frantic!!!

At quieter times of year (and January is one) you can probably book on the day - but you are taking a chance that the most popular places will be booked for the time you want. We have previpously waited until we got there and then booked our meals when we check in (this was in Feb) and were able to get the restaurants we wanted.
However if you have decided where you would like to eat then phone ahead and book now. You don't have to pay in advance. Then you would be almost guaranteed the place and time you want.

The restaurants in the Park won't take late bookings on the nights they close at 7, so you won't be able to book, say, for 6.15 pm. They won't kick you out of the door on the dot of 7, but they will be expecting you to be finishing off at that time.

I believe the latest booking you can make for a Disney park restaurant is one hour before park closing time ie if the park closes at 7pm, the latest booking would be 6pm. And you may not be admitted at that time if you haven't booked in advance.

You might find that you would prefer to eat later on after the parks have closed, either at one of the hotels or in Disney Village. A great place for a character meal in the Village is Cafe Mickey but I would advise booking for that, if not in advance, at least when you get to DLRP.
