Latest on holding?

Have SSR room booked for Jan 18th. What if we modify to go later, like Feb or March or even April? Can we...is holding still 'on hold'?

It is. I had to cancel today a booking for two nights starting January 19th for a friend who can’t travel due to her daughter getting Covid. The points did not go into holding.
