Latest Incentive

I don't think there are even any rumours yet!

I'm sure there will be some incentive, but I don't think it will be good as F&F. That was a pretty darn good deal. I purchased at $85, then added on at $87, with a 100 one time use points added in. The $83.30 was the best deal to come around. My Guide told me that the price was going up from $98 to $101 next month....my guess is that there will be another incentive a little after the price jump.

Don't know what the incentive is, but we met with our guide a couple of days before F&F ended (our first stay on points, and we'd already decided we needed an add-on!), and he said he'd just been in a meeting about the new incentives, and basically said that they were rubbish compared to F&F (didn't give any hints about what the new incentives were though).

I checked today and was told $98 a point for SSR with a $10 discount. I currently have a ressie (through Disney) for a one bedroom at BCV. Maybe we should use that $3000 and apply it towards membership at SSR.

the $10 discount is if you give back your first year points, right?
or how is that.

my Sis is thinking about buying and I am not up on the deals for NEW purchases...but better warn her of the price increase.

I would, that is a nice downpayment!!

I was told that I could get the $10 discount and use the Sept 05 UY points for our trip in June.

I inquired about adding on today at HH and the cost is $100.00 / point. They will give you 2005 points with the deal.

Not sure about the specifics, but Disney shareholders can receive a complimentary Disney vacation when you buy into Saratoga Springs.
With the price of a Disney share around $25.00, buy one share and get the bonus vacation.
This offer expires March 31, 2006

Really. That does not sound right to me. Anybody else have experience with any of the other sold out resorts recently? Latest I heard was $92 per point last month. Hard to believe it jumped $8 that quickly, but perhaps it did.

I am sorry - you are right it was $92.00 / point. I don't know what I was thinking.

Prophet, where did you hear about stockholders buying into SSR and getting an incentive? We are stock holders and I would buy more points. Is there a minimum number of points to buy?

Shareholder info... we purchased in the summer and our daughter has 12 shares... should we have gotten anything?

Are your shares in streetname?
Perhaps you should contact your broker.

I received the offer in yesterday's mail that contained Disney's annual report and proxy statement.

The Prophet

Prophet, can you share the details? Minimum number of SSR points, vacation detail.

Ok, I just dug mine out. I didn't realize it came with our annual statement. I saw the thing and just figured it was just another ad.

It just says from now until March 31st, 06 Disney shareholders are eligible to receive a complimentary Disney vacation when purchasing a real estate intrest in SSR.

It says call for the free DVD and ask about the complimentary vacation offer.

So it wouldn't include prior purchases as this is something new.

And I don't know but I guess the complimentary vacation might be your 2005 points that you can use right now. I could be wrong but that is the ins and outs of the ad.

ETA:
I just called to see what it was about and she did say it would be a comped vacation. She wasn't sure of the ins and outs but it is for stockholders only. Said something to the effect if you bought 150 points it could be 4 free days where 200 points would be 6 free days. Again she couldn't give me specifics but was guessing that is what it might be.

We are thinking of buying and I spoke to a rep today (since my rep is out sick) and was told that if I got the shareholder's promo, I could not get the $10 discount. He said that we could use one or the other but not both.

I'm curious about this, too, as we just opened the annual report this morning and saw the advertisement. Our guide is out until later this week, so if you do find out any further details, please post them! TIA
