Later excursion question

We're doing the five day January 15th cruise on the Magic. On Grand Cayman day we signed up for the bus excursion that takes you to Hell and the turtle farm and I'm not sure what else. It's at 11:45 am and says it could run until 2:15pm. If we wanted to buy some souvineers and rum cakes is there time before the excursion or after or did you find that they stopped at enough places to buy whatever you wanted. I'm just trying to figure out how it works because everything I've read about excursions says that people meet somewhere on the ship and tender out together but our excursion seems late and I'm not sure that there will be time to do much afterwards.

What are the port arrival/departure times?

Well, as a guess, I'd hazard that you will be meeting your tour onshore. Typically, later excursions in most ports do. That would give you some time in the morning to do some shopping. When you get onboard the ship, your shore excursion tickets will be in your room. On the ticket it tells you where/when to meet up. If you are meeting onshore, you could take an earlier tender and shop beforehand.

We did that excursion (not with DCL) in Grand Cayman a few years ago, and we had a stop at a little rum shop close to the turtle farm as part of the excursion.

Thank you PrincessShmoo. That is so helpful. I am glad to hear that we meet up ashore. I couldn't figure out how that was supposed to work. I appreciate your help.

I'm not guaranteeing that you will meet up onshore. I just know at most other ports, with a late excursion, that's how it's handled. Be sure to check your tickets once onboard to confirm where and when you need to meet. It could be on the ship.

It makes sense. Otherwise they'd be tendering people back and forth. I will be sure to check to be certain though.
