Later Arrival with Kids at Sanford?

Hi all. I am a new member to the Dis Boards, however, I have been reading some great ideas from these boards for a while. I will be staying at AKL from Dec 4 - 12 with my DW, DD5, DD4 and DS2. This will be our first trip.

We got great flight prices with Allegiant Air. The drawback to the arrival flight is that it arrives at the Sanford Airport at 9:20PM. We have a shuttle bus transportation with Starr to AKL.

I was wondering if anyone could share info about a similar arrival that you may have had in the past. My questions are:

1. How big is Sanford airport? Is it easy to get around? Is it easy to get to the bus transportation?

2. When we arrive at Starr, does the shuttle wait until the bus is full of people? Or does it leave at certain timed intervals?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm just trying to find out as much as possible in order to plan accordingly with the kids. Thanks.

I can't help you on the shuttle service, I normally rent a car there.

The airport is fairly small and very easy to navigate around. It's about an hour to WDW from there.

I believe the shuttles are out front (but don't hold me to that), I know the rental car shuttles are.

It's a nice airport, not nearly as crazy as MCO, You will like it.
