Okay you guys have been so helpful- and it is finally confirmed- we are going to WDW in december!! So another question:

I know the podcast crew has said that the Candlelight processional and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party are both worth it, but if you could only chose one to do which would you choose?

Candlelight processional? This seems just like our Christmas Eve church service at home- we have a candle light service with a bell choir/ regular choir/ children's play/ lots of singing and decorations etc- is the CP something we should still buy a dinner package to see?

MVMCP? I had no idea this was so much $$. I read the stuff that is included~parade, show, castle dream lights, character greetings, snow on main street, cookies and cocoa- When we go to the DLR resort at Christmas time all of this stuff is included everyday (minus the free treats)- will we only see the snow, lights and parade if we go to this party? Is there no regular Christmas parade in the magic Kingdom?

I don't mean to sound cynical, these both sound fun, but we only have so much money to spend on extras, so I want to know what you guys think is better for two adults. Thanks!

Well.....

I would do both. You can purchase your MVMCP tix and go to that and then go over to the CP on an off day during the week and stand in line to get in.

I did this some years ago and I waited a while but I didn't have to pay for a package. You can do both and only pay for one. Both are must do experiences.

The other option for the CP if you don't want to wait is to go and stand outside the auditorium in America and just listen to the CP.

we are doing both, but if i only had to pick one........MVMCP. sure it's more money, but we stayed the entire time, enjoyed the holiday wishes, parade and rides with no lines.

we rode everything we wanted that night and just had an overall blast. I love the CP too, but you could always just stand sort of in the back, not in the actual theater for a later show.

while I haven't been to either yet. It seems silly to miss MVMCP if you are there. As a previous posted said , just hang in the areA of CP if it's crowded. That's our plan. With a 4 & 1 y.o., It may be our only option anyway for CP!

So is the MVMCP the only way to see the Christmas parade and the holiday lights on the castle? I think I am not understanding because in Disneyland we don't have this- every night they do the lighting of the castle, the Christmas parade and holiday fireworks. Will I not get the "Christmas" feel without the party?

while I can't say about the parade. The podcast crew did say castle lighting happens during normal park hours.
