Hi All,

We are at DLR from Sept. 29th -Oct. 2nd. I notice there is almost nothing in the way of parades etc. scheduled from Sept. 28th onwards - is this because the Disney site just hasn't been updated that far ahead, or is there really nothing on ?

Thanks,

Glenn

hmm.. i only see a parade schedule for the week before you arrive.

i know for sure fantasmic will be down, that was a bummer for us.

Yes, missing Fantasmic will be a bit of a blow...

There is the Parade of Dreams and the Dreams Come True shows listed for Friday Sept. 26th and Saturday Sept. 27th, but those two do not appear again on the calendar - even the following weekend !

They just haven't updated yet. They often don't until right 30 days before, especially at this time of year... something about the fiscal year ending and things are busy, I guess. Parades and stuff will be there, fireworks will be on the weekends.

To get an idea of what it was like the same week last year, check the calendar at laughingplace, here: http://www.laughingplace.com/Guide-Cal-dl-200709.asp

I was wondering this too, that's good to know that there will be parades on then, I'm looking forward to seeing them.

Thanks for the info...

We are arriving late Saturday (27th Sept.) and have a 3-day-pass.

I was planning on taking the family to DLR and DCA on the Monday-Wednesday so that we missed the weekend crowds. Given that the fireworks only run on the weekends (does that include Sunday?) - Is it worth making the Sunday our first day, or should we just watch the fireworks from our hotel (the Carousel - right across the street) ?

Thoughts or comments appreciated.

Glenn.

If you go on the Sunday, the park will be open from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm as opposed to all the other days when it will be open from 10:00 to 8:00.
This means you will get an extra 3 hours in the park if you go on Sunday.
Last time we were there, I found that both Sunday mornings were really busy but the crowds seem to get smaller as the day wore on and Sunday night was not that busy!
I was told by one CM that a lot of people who have APs and live within about 6 hours away leave late Sunday mornings and that the local AP holders often go home before evening!
If I was choosing, I would choose to see the fireworks in the park as the projections on the castle and seeing Tinkerbell fly are some of the best parts of the show and you can only see that from within the park.
If you want to see High School Musical 2: School's Out parade thing, it does not show Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
Perhaps you want to do the parks Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday as Monday and Friday are the busiest days next to Saturday and Sunday.

Absolutely include Sunday. My experience is that Sunday the first 2 hours & the final 2 hours are GREAT times to enjoy DLR with little to no crowds. Plus Sunday gives you the Fireworks. (& you might consider making Sunday your MM day).

IMO....add another day & enjoy all four days & take breaks mid day. :thumbsup2

Ditto to this. It's worth it for the fireworks alone. You really, really want to see them while standing in front of the castle. They are truly breathtaking - my very favorite attraction at DLR!

All good suggestions - thanks.

Since we have a 3 Day Pass, how would I go about adding a day to this if we decide once there that we really need that extra day ? How much extra does it cost ?

Thanks,

Glenn

Glenn, it would be the difference in what you paid & what the "regular price" 4 day tickets would be. On the DL website it shows a $15 bump per person (from 3 day to 4 day) for both adults & kids & from a 4 day to a 5 day the price bump is only $10.

Did you get regular tickets or some "deal"? Where did you purchase them?

To me....$15 for an extra day at DL is a no brainer....an extra day to take pics, see the sights, hang with the characters & re-ride your favorites. And if going on Sunday (which i recommend)....GO EARLY...the first 3 hours are blissfully NOT crowded.

Ok, so I've got someone saying to go Sunday morning to avoid crowds and someone else saying the evening is less crowded...I think we need a tie-breaker !

I'm saying that Sunday early morning (till 11 - 11:30am) AND in the evening after 7 or 8PM are great.

From noon till 5pm it's best to avoid DLR & enjoy DCA &/or have a mid day break. (or do shows & non-popular attractions).
