My friend and I are taking our Dad's to DW, staying at POR. We are checking in on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and staying for 3nts/4days. How are the crowds during that time? We really don't have much choice but to go at that time, so we'll deal with it, just curious.

Sunday will be very busy, however by Monday and Tuesday you should see a significant drop in the crowd level. Many people will be checking out on Sunday and Monday. Mid week the week after Thanksgiving is usually a great time to go, low crowds and "usually" good weather. The cold fronts start making their way through that time of year, so rain is always a possibility...and then after that comes the "chill" in the air. Great time of year to go with all of the holiday trimmings! :thumbsup2

My family will be checking into POR on the same day as you! I have gone the last few years around this time and it really has not be bad. We dont usually go the parks the first day we check in but hang out around the pool or go to Disney Downtown because as the other poster mentioned it is a little busy with people getting their last moments of the magic. We did not experience a whole lot a of lines and even if there is a line there is not the same heat as in the summer. I think you will have a great time!

We arrived the Sunday after Thanksgiving last year and the crowds weren't that bad - and by mid-afternoon they had significantly died down. Monday through Thursday was fantastic - and the weather was 70, sunny, and hardly any humidity - you'll love it!

We've always been happy going at that time-small lines, good weather, beautiful decorations.

You have picked a good time!!

(we will be at POFQ at the same time)

How chilly does it get at night for the mvmcp and general actitivties at night? How does going in late nov compare to late aug? This will be our first trip and I am traveling with 9,5 and 3 year old kids.

Like night and day! Late August is still hot & humid, with a good chance of rain. Late November I've found to have comfortable days and cool evenings. I think late November is the best time of the year!

Howdy neighbors, This family of 5 will be there at that time too!! Checking into POR on turkey day for 9 nights!! :woohoo:  :woohoo:

Hey! We'll be at POR that week as well, so we'll be neighbors with you too! I'm really looking forward to it because we've never been at Christmastime. I can't wait to see the decorations and attend MVMCP.

What are the odds? Two Oklahomans, same week, same resort? :rotfl:

Well, it is WDW, so probably not as odd as I first thought.

Maybe not, but it's still pretty cool! I'll be sure to keep my eye out for a family with three princesses! :wave2:
