Late March crowds?

Well, a trip this summer is out. The family has decided on a week at a beach house instead. So...I'm looking ahead to next year. We have never been to the world during "spring break" before and I'm curious about the crowds. I know this is an incredibly busy time for the world, but is it manageable? I don't want to go and be miserable and have terribly long lines, etc. We would not be going around Easter 2006, rather the last week of March.

Any veterans of spring break out there who can give me an idea of the spring break crowds and what to expect as far as lines, difficulty of getting PS's, temperature, etc.
