Late Flight, ME, Wheres my luggage?

Trusting ME w/ our luggage and coming into MCO at 10:30 pm.....How long will we wait at the hotel for the luggage to arrive?

According to my ME package: "Your luggage will travel separately from you and will arrive at your resort 1-3 hours after you check in".

You have a few choices.

Pack in your carryon everything you will need for the first night (a good idea regardless) and have ME deliver your luggage in the morning.

Pack what you need for the first night and have ME deliver your luggage when it arrives regardless of the time.
or
Don't use the ME yellow luggage tags and pick up your luggage on the carosel at MCO like you would prior to ME. Take it with you to check in for ME and the driver willl load it under the bus in the luggage compartment. (I tipped when I did this).

If you are arriving that late, you are probably best off just packing the necessities in your carry-on (which is always a good suggestion in case your luggage gets lost) and tell them at the front desk to have bell services hold your bags until you call for them in the morning.

this was us. We arrived at CR about 11pm. I had kids in pj's on the plane and the adults has sweats. We went right to bed. I thought the luggage would arrive but when I awoke the next day (as usual well before everyone else about 5 am.) No luggage. it seems that they do not call and wake you or send luggage up in the middle of the night. They wait until the a.m. I went to the bell captain and asked that the luggage be delivered at 7.

I had read on these boards that they would automatically deliver luggage in the morning (7 or 8 a.m.) if you arrived late, so I didn't ask the front desk to hold our luggage after we arrived around midnight. We had a call at 2 a.m. - just when everyone had finally fallen asleep! They delivered our luggage a few minutes later.

wow, that was opposite of our experience. I'm glad you posted. I thought they always waited until the am. Of course on that trip, I was waiting for the call between snores and it never came. Now for my next late night flight I'll be sure to ask that they hold the luggage.

Before I say anything more, let me state at the onset that I am not an ME fan after a bad experience in 2005...

Now, since that's out of the way, I would suggest picking up your luggage and taking it with you to the bus. That way it will be loaded along with you and you'll have it when you need it. Whether or not you get it in the middle of the night or not until the morning seems to vary quite a bit.

Plus, for us, there's always something we wish we'd packed in the carry-on when we plan to leave for the parks early the next day.

(I also tip the driver when I expect him to handle my luggage )
