I have been on 2 Cruises and wanted to go in the late fall or early winter and have heard some horror :guilty: stories. The cruise they were on were in the eastern caribbean. They said they had a good time but the swells were unbelievable. The middle pool became a WAVE pool and had to be closed. The seas were ruff. So my question was is this always something that happens because of the time of year or what part of the Caribbean. Please help cause I want to plann now for 2006 ::MickeyMo .

This is not something that happens all of the time. We've been on three mid winter cruises, two in February and one in January. While the seas for a couple of days in January were a little less calm than we've experienced in the past, they were by no means horrible. And sea conditions can vary no matter what part of the year it is. We really enjoy the winter cruises, as we don't much care for really hot weather. So in February we can get away from the really cold weather and enjoy nice bearable summer weather for a week!

We have also cruised during this time and while the swells did get to 20 feet I wouldn't call it a horror story. It was a little comical trying to stand in line at the buffet in Parrot Cay one day. LOL! The kids enjoyed the wave action in the Mickey pool. The weather has been very warm for us as well. We are going in December again this year.

I have cruised 2 times in Sept, once in Oct ond most recently this past November. Not one problem was encountered :-)

Thanks for all who responded. I think we will stick to when the kids get out of school. We seem to like the Western over the Eastern, plus from people that i know that have been on both, they did say that the Western was better.
