Late Dinner at Yak & Yeti ???

Looking for some help.

I see the Yak & Yeti has dinner from 4-7, however on the night I want to make reservations the park closes at 5. If I want to make reservations for 6 pm, can we stick around the park after closing time or do we have to leave and then come back?

Just wondering if I should make dinner for 5:30 (which is really early for us to eat).

I know Yak & Yeti stays open past park hours for people that are eating there, but I did not think you could make a reservation past normal park closing time. You could make one AT park closing time, but I haven't heard of booking past that time.

Perhaps someone with real world experience will chime in, but it almost sounds like an error to me.

What day is this, specifically? (Just in case there's a calendar issue at play here.)

Edited: Are you sure you can book a reservation past 5 on the day in question - did the dining site give you that as an option?

If AK is closing at 5, I don't think you'll be able to make a reservation for any time later than 5. In the general information section of the reservation page it lists dinner from 4-7, but that's probably because there are days when the park is open until 8.

Choose the date and time you want and it searches for what's available. I picked a date in October when the park closes at 5 and entered 6PM and the latest time I was offered was 4:45.

Thank you both! I am not at my 180 day mark yet (two more days). I am just looking ahead. I seen dinner times from 4-7 and just assumed that you could make it past the time the park closes at 5. What you are both saying makes a lot of sense. I think I will book a late lunch instead of dinner. I just can't eat dinner that early.

On a day where AK closes at 6, I got a 5.30pm adr, that way I get to walk out into an empty park.
