How late (in relation to posted closing time) will table-service restaurants seat a walk-up?

We (2 adults, no kids) are arriving at WDW around 5pm and plan to head straight to DHS to see the 8pm Fantasmic show. We are on the DxDDP and have a total of 2 credits to use for dinner that night. I'd really like to have a TS meal, but I don't know what our options are. We are planning on sitting near the exit at the show and briskly heading for the bus as soon as the show ends, but what restaurants give us the best chance of a walk-up?

We are staying at BLT so I was thinking maybe Kona Cafe? There is still a 9:15pm ADR available, but would we make it if we took a cab instead of the bus?

What about a walk-up at O'Hana? Cali Grill? The Wave? Even though DHS closes at 8, 50's PT is showing an 8:20 ADR...would they take a walk-up after Fantasmic? (I'd think no, but figured I'd ask:flower3:)

Our backup plan is to share a meal from in-room dining and then maybe having a flatbread at TOTWL or a snack from Contempo Cafe.

Suggestions?

(**I posted a similar question on the transportation board since the transportation is a major factor in our plans**)

Why not make the latest ressie possible...like 9:45 at Kona and if you arrive early see if they can seat you? Then you can have a walk around the grounds or beach before dinner if you are too early. We would probably pick which place we want to go to and then we know we would get to have our ressie. :goodvibes

We have gotten ADRs at Ohana as late as 9:50. I think we sat down at Kona once just after 10pm. We look at it this way - we are on vacation and don't want to be running around (taxi, etc) to rush to reservations. If DHS closes at 8 and Fantasmic! starts at 8, you won't be out of there until 8:40 with all the people, etc. I think you might be able to make the 9:15 at Kona. Historically, Disney has honored reservations when we have been a little late <15 mins.

It might be fun to leave your options open. The flatbreads at TOTWL are pretty kickin good!
