My daughter has been accepted in the Professional College Internship program and has a late December start date. Looks like she will need her car since Interns aren't offered Disney transportation. What fun we will have driving two cars (she has one really tiny car that might fit two suitcases) from the wintery north starting Christmas Day!
My daughter still hasn't received the particulars (housing, etc.) other than start and end date. I was wondering, if we drive down with her and wish to stay and spend New Year's Eve with her, do the College Interns work on New Year's Eve? She was told she would work about 30 hours a week, though I am sure that will change during holidays. However, the first week she is there, do the Interns work? Or is the first week spent finding housing, getting situated, etc.?
Will there be any assistance or guidance in finding housing? Or do we just stick a pin in a map and hope for the best?
Do interns have more flexibility in their schedules than the College Program participants? Or does that depend on the department she works for? I ask because I was thinking of giving her, as a Christmas present, a "Mom-coupon" for one roundtrip plane ticket home for a visit (since she says she will miss her cat terribly for the 6 months she is gone - no missing family, of course!
). I just wasn't sure if she will actually have two days off in a row that she would be able to fly home for a quick visit.
Thanks for the help!
