late checkout?

Do any of the resorts allow this? Just checking? thanks!

(our flight doest leave until 3:30 pm), and we have young kids so we were going to use the pool that morning (but wanted a place to shower and change before the flight!!!!)

The latest I've ever gotten from a value resort has been 12:00 (noon) and the latest I've gotten from a delux has been 1:00PM. You have to call housekeeping on your checkout day and ask them. The front desk does not handle these requests.

If it helps any i know i've seen that there are locker room/showers near the pools at some resorts.

There are showers, lockers, restrooms, and a laundromat at each pool area.

There is probably similar about the other resorts if you look up each one. this is just the first one i came accross.

I don't think you can get a later checkout at any resort. If your flight is leaving at 3:30 and you are part of the Magical Express then they have your bags ready 3 hrs before the flight which doesn't leave you a whole bunch of time. We ran into the same problem last yr. Our flight was later, we had to check out and I had a 4 yr old and a 3 yr old. We just slept, packed up, checkout and then ate on the resort to kill some time.

We stayed at WL back in Aug/Sep 2005. We called on our check-out day and requested a late check-out. They gave us a 1:00 check-out, which worked out great.

Yes you can get a late checkout by calling houskeepers or if you are staying club level they can do it for you. Of course it might not help if you are taking DME but we never used them.

We also got lucky and got an upgrade to Club level. We wanted club level to begin with but they didn't have it when I booked it or I would have gotten it then but was able to get it at check in

The only hard and fast rule we've run into is no late checkout at the DVC resorts -- ever. The hotels seems more flexible in our experience.

1) For all non-DVC resorts. *
. . . normal check-out - 11:00am
. . . up to 1:00pm - free
. . . up to 3:00pm - 50% of room rate
. . . after 3:00pm - 100% of room rate
2) They can charge these amounts, and sometimes do and sometimes don't.
3) DVC resorts do not have check-outs beyond 11:00am.

* When late check-outs are requested, ONLY housekeeping can grant them. They look at the capacity, staffing levels and other requests. *Normally* you can get a 1:00pm late check-out without too much hassle, but not always.

I always called the front desk. I don't think phone actually rings at the front desk. The person is spoke with my be checking with housekeeping but I've never called houskeeping directly.

The OPs flight is leaving at 3:30, DME will pick them up around 12:30. They shouldn't have a problem getting a 12:00p check out.
