Late checkout - What's the latest?

I believe I requested it twice and both times we got late check out for noon. We usually take the last flights out, so we'll leave our bags with Bell Services and go on to parks, pool, or DS.

Not sure at which resort you are staying, but just because you need to check out of the room, you can stay at the resort and use all of its amenities. Bell services will hold your luggage. I can't speak for all resorts, but at AKL there are small lockers near the pool, and the bathroom near the pool have showers, towels, hairdryers, etc. you can check out of your room, spend the day at the pool, shower and change, grab your bags at bell services at the end of the day.

I have left my stuff with bell services many times and have never had a problem.

Last February I made a check out for 6 PM. It cost me an additional $75 but it was worth it. We had a late flight and we got a whole extra day in the parks.

Your other option is to pay for the extra night, then you can stay as late as you like.

Always a good choice for a nighttime flight.

Yeah, especially if you're coming into rooms when they are still occupied!

Last June, they deactivated our Magic Bands after we did airline check-in [there was an issue with my daughter's boarding pass so we had to go to the front desk, and they just assumed we were leaving right then].

That's part of the whole point of their existence, to hold bags before checkin and after checkout.
