Late check out?

I am going to try for late check out next Wednesday at AS Music since our grandson will need a nap after the morning in the park. Has anyone done this? Do we ask at check in? We will be spending Wed. night near the port in order to cruise on the Wonder Thurs. Thanks for any info.

Ask at check-in. When they can, the staff will usually give you an extra hour or two, but not much beyond that. You might want to ask this question in the resort forum.

I have read that you should ask the day before you leave. This way the CM can see how many people will be leaving and arriving.
They may not have this info available on your check-in day.

We've been granted a late check out a a couple of resorts...usually 1:00. We have always been told to check the night before and that usually during the week you'll have a decent chance of getting it.

I've had late-checkout at the value resorts for a few times. The strange thing is what they charge you. When I wanted to stay to 3 p.m. they were going to charge me a whole another day. So the last time I paid for a 3rd day even tho I was flying out (I figured what mattered most to me was having a room to freshen up in and relax in while having to wait till my transport pickup) - when I went to check out at 3 p.m. they ended up crediting me that entire day! I didn't end ask.

So go ahead and ask at check-in and see what they say or consider reserving for that day and hoping they credit that day back to you when you leave early.

I believe it is fairly common practice in the hotel industry to charge for some or all of an entire day if a guest wishes to check out late.

However, at WDW, I think they charge an amount equal to 1/2 the daily rate for a late check out of 3:00 pm (we have done this a couple times and that is always what we have been charged).
