Just found out that our departure flight got pushed back, and we don't leave the world until 7pm. Do WDW resorts ever entertain late check- out requests? We'll be traveling with a 1 and 3 year old in July and staying at the Poly.

I asked for one 2 years ago at the Poly and it was not granted due to guest capacity. Though my brother has been granted 2 late check outs at POR. I hope you get your request :)

It doesn't hurt to ask, but I think it depends on how busy that day as to whether late check-outs can be granted.

However, I'm not sure why you'd need late check-out. You can check in for your flight from the Poly RAC desk, let the Poly hold your luggage until time to board ME to the airport (or until you drive yourself if renting a car), and then you can swim in the Poly pool, go to a park, go to DtD or whatever you'd like, until you need to leave.

Right. We are actually doing breakfast at Kona that morning. The original plan was pack, breakfast, back to room to get bags to leave until ME, then some last minute monorailing, etc. Now, with several hours, and two boys who are in the stage where "get dressed" is code for "playtime" in theirs minds, it would be nice not to rush it/fight them as much. So, we could do breakfast the back to room to pack, then leave bags closer to noon or 1 before our last WDW hoorah! :-)

My advice: don't tell the kids you have all the extra time. If they still think your departure is earlier, they might cooperate more in the morning, get dressed, bags packed and left with the front desk, etc. before going to Kona. While at Kona (please have some Tonga Toast with a side of bacon in my memory while there), spring on them you have essentially an extra day at WDW. THEN they can go crazy, and you know you've done the hard part already. :thumbsup2

I have had late check out a few times (fall and not always the Poly). The latest they let me have the room was 1 pm. As a pp stated check your bags in with bag check and enjoy your remaining hours at the parks! On a side note there is a family restroom outside of O'hanas where you could freshen up before you leave. You do have access to the amenities for the remainder of the day! Good luck!

we have gotten late check out at POR several times. I have called one of those times and no Upcharge was incurred.
Otherwise I have asked Mousekeeper if it would be okay if we were a little late (between 2-3) and they have always said yes, no prob, theyd come back to straighten up room. Could it be that we leave a thank you note to the mousekeeper with a tip each morning before leaving (regardless if we'd like a late check out) :confused3 who knows. But a Shout out to the MouseKeepers at POR preferred buildings, cause they are the Best! And make great towel animals too!
Good Luck OP!

If housekeeping allows it, policy is as follows:
FREE until 1PM
1/2 Rack Rate until 3PM
Full night after 3PM

Housekeeping can say no or say only until noon. Don't push it, they won't hesitate to charge you!

Except for any DVC resorts. They do not have any late checkouts. But since you are not in a DVC resort, you don't have to worry about that.

We asked for and got 1:00 check out 2 out of our last 3 visits. We got it at Contemporary a few years ago and at our Animal Kingdom Lodge visit a few months ago. We were not granted late check out at our Polynesian stay in September. A friend of mine was at the Poly later on in September and she was able to check out at 1:00.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the feedback... And the hope. We are there during a busy summer month, so I'm not holding my breath, but good to know it can happen!

Don't know if this will help you any or not, but the same thing happened to us once so we bought one more day of tickets when we checked in and that morning we checked out, left the luggage that would be checked on the plane with the staff and then went to bell services and left all our carry on items. We got to do a few more hours of park time and them came back. got our stuff and caught the ME to the airport.
