I thought I read somewhere about late check-out? Has anyone done this? I'll be at All Star Movies in October..is it likely I could get it? Our plane doesn't leave till after 4 p.m. and I would love the extra time to sleep in and swim....

free until 1 pm
50% the night's stay between 1 and 3 pm
another night's stay beyond that

requests are granted on a first come, first serve basis and are limited based on how many previous requests had been granted.

So, can you request late checkout ahead of time, as in before your vacation? Or do you have to wait until you check-in?

You typically request late check-out the morning of check-out. That's when they will have the best idea of how many rooms they need to turn that day.

I always get late checkout and request it the night before our departure. They have never declined the request. Last year I was able to stay until 4:00 which was real nice since we had a later flight. I had connecting rooms since it was myself, DH and two teenage sons so the only thing they asked is if I could move everything into one room so they could have the other which was not a problem at all because we really didn't have to have it. We knew we were doing a park in the morning and I only needed the room to come back and freshen up before heading out to the airport.

well, with a cancellation policy of 5 days or so, they pretty much already know who's checking out when.

all i can say is i've read advice from a CBR CM that doesn't quite jive with an opinion on here, so you could have luck doing it in advance but if you're on the phone at 7 am that morning i don't think you'll have too much of an issue either

It depends .......... and I mean that with all sincerity. If the resort is pretty full, they need rooms emptied out so Mousekeeping can get them ready for the next guests.

Our experience (at WL several times, Dolphin, BC, Poly, CR, GF, POR) is that we have been granted a late check out of 1 PM about 60% of the time ----- it is absolutely, in no way guaranteed. Once or twice, it was only until 12 noon. We've always been told we'd be charged if we stayed beyond 1 PM, and that's exactly what others post. These trips were all in less-busy times (no summer, spring break, Easter, or holiday trips).

We've been told to call down on the morning of check out day.

I always try to play it safe by requesting the late checkout the night before so they can plan for it. As I mentioned in an earlier post, since I have connecting rooms I have been asked to at least empty one room which is just fine. As long as I have a room to come back to so we can all freshen up before heading to the airport it's all I need.

Our flight doesn't leave until 7pm so I just added another night to our reservation to guarantee room availability. We are staying during a very busy time and I was concerned about requesting late check-out. I will let the front desk know at check-in that we will actually be vacating the room in the late afternoon so housekeeping can have a heads-up to get it ready for the next Disney Lovin' family.
