Late Check In

Hello,
Does anyone know if Disney has a policy on late check in? I am considering a trip in May with a late flight arrival and might not actually get to the resort until 1:00 a.m. I was wondering if they may perhaps deduct some of the nightly room rate (I know wishful thinking)
Any info would be greatly appreciated!:D

No, they won't. I once arrived at 2:00am to the BC, and got what had to be the worst room there...I posted a little info about it in a recent post, but suffice to say they should be embaressed charging full price for this room. There was no balcony, it over looked a rooftop and any other view was blocked by teh buildings facade. And yes, they charged me full price (RACK RATE) for it--in retrospect I should have refused to pay. Luckily I only needed it for one night as I was moving to another resort the next day, otherwise I would have been livid and demanded a complete refund.

Oh, and the place was FULL, there were no other rooms available. Had it been earlier when I arrived (I had a terrible trip just getting there--bumped off of four flights to Orlando in a row and then finally flown into Tampa), I would have forced them to give me a different room, even if it meant upgrading me to the Presidential Suite or moving me to another resort.

No, I hadn't heard where they give you a discount.

In 2001, our plane arrived around 12:15 AM, and by the time we got to the hotel, it was close to 1:00 AM. We had to pay the full nite - but fortunately - I had gotten the All Star Movies for $49/night!!! And, even with such a late arrival, we did get the building my little girl was hoping for - 101 Dalmations!!!

When we have had evening arrivals like that, we often will check into a cheap airport hotel that offers free shuttle. Then, at around 5 a.m. we take a cab to our resort -- do early check in and hit the parks as they open. When we are ready for a break, the resort usually has our room ready. And, normally we've gotten exactly what we wanted in terms of special requests.

I will be arriving around the same time at night as you are Alice, and yes I have to pay the full price (which is discounted to begin with because I have a code) but one thing that I will mention is that I had it noted in my reservation, so that they know that I will be arriving late and since I am allergic to smoke I had that noted too so I know I have a room and that it will be non-smoking (the reservation says this is confirmed) so I am not worrying about arriving late. It can't help to tell them you are arriving late.

In all my travels both business and pleasure, I've had very little
luck negotiating partial charge for late ck in / out. I am on the road 75-90 days a year for the last 10 years. Only once was I able
to negotiate a half night's stay, and that was for an 8 pm check out in Las Vegas as many flights to the east coast from there are
red eyes departing 10pm - 2am.
