Late bfast reservations at Cape May - worth it?

Looking for some advice. Booked a quick MK focused trip for our son’a first visit ( will be 2.5 at time of trip). Booked late, so the only character meal we could get was a 10:50am breakfast at Cape May.

With that late of a time I was wondering if (a) the food will all just be leftovers that have sat out for hours and (b) how long do the characters stick around?

You will not have old food, and you will meet the characters. Cape May is a laid back character meal, IMO. WHile I have never had breakfast there, I often peek in when we stay at the BC, and it is quieter and less "busy" than Chef Mickey or Tusker House. I think you will be fine.

Keep in mind that people drop meals all the time, so as you get closer to your trip I bet more choices will open up. If you had your heart set on different characters or dining times, just keep looking.

I bet if Garden Grill in The Land opens, your little one would love it. It features the Chipmunks and is really nice for parents. No getting up, they food comes to you!

Thanks Nancy, makes me feel better.

This will be out departure day with a 3pm flight, so did not plan on getting park tickets. Pretty much limits us to Chef Mickeys, O'Hana, and Cape May. Will def keep looking, this 10:50 only showed up the other day - and I know there will be more changes before our trip.

Where are you staying and are you using Magical Express? If you are using Magical Express, the bus will pick you up around noon which doesn't allow much time for a 10:50 am breakfast unless you are staying at BC/YC. I would keep looking.

Okay, this changes things. If you are using DIsney Magical Express you will need to be at your DME stop 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time, which will be about 3 hours in advance. So for a 3 PM flight you will need to be ready to go about 11:45 becuase the departure time means DME leaves the stop at that time. I found that out teh hard way.

Unless you are staying at a Boardwalk resort you are cutting this way too close. @DisneyWishes14 has suggested, keep looking. And sign up with Touring Plans so you can use their ADR finder.

No Magical Express concerns, but thanks for the heads up (I have been many times, just the first time bringing our son). Staying at AKL, all of us have TSA pre-check, taking an uber to the airport and the flight is not until 3 - so we will be fine from a timing perspective no matter where we end up.

Just looking to book a nice character meal before departure, but without a park ticket - hence the three options above. Thanks for the advice, and will keep looking to see if anything else opens (and sign-up for the TP reservation finder).

Under those circumstances I would keep what you have. Get your stuff packed and checked with Bell services, and with RAC, and then head over to the Beach Club for a nice filling breakfast. If you get there a little early, just check in early, and you may be seated right away. Of the three choices I think this one wil be the most relaxing. You will not feel rushed to get there, and you will not need to panic to head out. I alway use a cab to return to our resort on departure day. It is fast, cheap and I do not worry about transportation glitches.

I would keep what you have since you aren't using DME and your at AK. It's nice you don't have to go all the way into the MK resort area (Cape May is closer) and it's so much more relaxed at BC. This would give you a leisurely morning at the resort to finish up any packing, sleeping late, etc. Then you can just go to breakfast and be on your way!

I love cape may, going back in a month. Yay! It's very quiet and the characters are great. They just added daisy. They have these amazing chorizo scrambled eggs.
