We will be going to US/IOA after a Disney cruise in December. After getting off the ship and hitting a grocery store, we should be at RP by noon-ish. We'll probalby want to chill for a while and maybe hit the pool. If we went to a park in the later afternoon (3-ish?), what park and what rides should we try at that hour?

We have the HP package, so we are happy to leave WWOHP for Friday/Saturday.

We are a family of four, including our DSs ages 8 and 10. The little one will be tall enough for everything except the Hulk (unless he has a major growth spurt before then!!)

Thanks!

December, except for around Christmas, is dead. You can probably do whatever you want, including Harry Potter. The closest park to RP is IOA but you are talking a couple of minutes walk to either one. With your room keys affording you FOTL access on just about every ride you could even use your first afternoon to take a walking tour of both parks and let the kids mark their favorites for the rest of the vacation. That way you will be familiar with the layout of both parks.

Universal isn't anything like a WDW vacation. You don't have to scramble for Fastpasses or worry about a huge line. You can walk into most restaurants without an ADR. You may end up getting spoiled by the experience. Have a great trip.
